I recently had the pleasure of hosting a bridal shower at the extraordinary Sankofa Haus, and I cannot express how impressed I was with every aspect of the experience. This venue, with its comprehensive list of amenities, exceeded all my expectations, and owner Mike's professionalism made the entire process a breeze.

First and foremost, Sankofa Haus had everything we needed and more. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a beautifully designed interior that exuded both style and functionality. The space boasted a full sound system that allowed us to set the perfect ambiance with our music selections. It was a delight to have access to a fully equipped kitchen, which made catering a seamless process. The addition of a bar area was a real crowd-pleaser, and it facilitated beverage service effortlessly. Furthermore, the inclusion of a projector and TV screens for displays enhanced the overall experience for our attendees, making presentations and visuals a highlight of the event.

I would highly recommend Sankofa Haus to anyone in need of a venue. It is an amazing space that can be used for so many different things. I am the Co-Founder of Live From The Bronx, a creative brand that helps people of color break into creative industries. In May we had our first live event, the Bronx Summit. The Bronx Summit brought together over 100 Bronx entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs to network and learn from each other; Sankofa Haus was the perfect location to bring this event to life.

The venue is beautiful; all of the artwork, colors, and books feel very intentional. When you walk into Sankofa it feels upscale, but also it feels very communal. Sankofa gets so much natural light, which makes it feel even more welcoming.

For our event we had a lot happening so we needed a space that could be versatile. The fact that Sankofa has multiple spaces allowed us to have panels in one room while networking was happening in the other space. The tech set-up allowed us to project all of our logos, as well as the sponsor’s logos on the multiple TVs. Sankofa Haus also has the tech capability to be able to project what is happening in one space in the other if you need an overflow room. All of the guests at the Bronx Summit were impressed with Sankofa Haus, many of which want to have their own events at Sankofa.

The staff was super accommodating, and amazing to work with. They have relationships with so many different vendors, so whatever you need, if they don't do it in-house they can connect you with the right people to make your event special. I personally have known DJ Spynfo (the owner) for over 15 years and he is super genuine and moves with integrity in everything he does-these are the type of people you want to do business with. I threw a party for my other half's 40th in Oct 2024 and couldn't have asked for a better venue.

It's taken me forever to write this, but I still can't get over how truly amazing my experience with this Sankofa Haus was. From the initial visit to the end of the event, everything went smoothly.

Nita was amazing to work with in helping me make sure everything was in order. From day one the level of communication was top tier. Any questions I had were answered thoroughly even up until the day of the event. The day of Spynfo was there to ensure that we had everything we needed and dressed so sharp when party time came that some of our guest thought he was family, and for the night it truly felt like it.

A huge thank you to our bartender Nivia ..when I tell you she was a vibe all on her own I mean that in the best way possible! I'm so grateful she was the one to serve for the party because everyone raved about her and our side conversations were insightful. (I'm glad to have found another black woman who enjoys whiskey, cognacs, and brandy's.)

This space is the perfect blank canvas with an established minimalist decor that complements any color scheme and since the theme for the party was black with a touch of gold, the green of the live plants a black and white striped wall balanced everything out perfectly! I have a 40th coming up in a few years so hopefully we'll get a chance to visit Sankofa Haus again!
