The Box Store by FlatRate Moving — Local services in New York

I don't often write reviews but I was blown away by my experience at this place. I had to purchase boxes without logos for a film project and my usual spot was closed for a holiday. I ran here in hopes they had what I needed, and I am now a loyal customer. The store was well cared for in every way- a clean open and well-laid out space, quiet and calm atmosphere, and most importantly kind people. I appreciated the feeling of it being well managed and the staff seeming happy and relaxed as opposed to the misery you see of employees at other stores. They were generous in their time spending to help me, gentle and patient in the way they listened to my needs and packed up my purchases, and they threw in that extra love in more ways than one. One of the people at the store, probably the owner or manager, asked me if there was anything missing us film people could use and I just wanted to let him know the things that came up on my shoot. Everything you gave us was amazing and worked really well, things we ended up getting at other stores to meet our needs were bankers boxes (essentially to get the feeling of a variety of boxes) and pink packing peanuts (we love color options). Wow!! Where to begin. I don’t generally write reviews but I felt compelled to come on here and do so. The customer service and care I received in the store today was remarkable, and quite honestly, heartwarming and inspiring. They truly care about others and you feel it from the second you walk in. I came in to the store today exhausted after a long day of work looking to purchase an iPhone charger for my nearly dead phone. Although they did not have what I needed, they graciously offered to charge my phone for me. I was so grateful for their kind gesture and relieved! I have never seen or dealt with a better shipping store in New York and no matter where you live in the city, make your way here to fulfill all your moving/shipping/packing needs!! I have now sent three items from this store and bought corresponding boxes for them and everytime I couldn't have had a better experience. Somehow they have this huge beautiful store full of anything you might need (boxes and envelopes of all sizes, all packing supplies, miscellaneous items like umbrellas and candles), and they consistently cost less for those items and shipping than any (I mean ANY) place I have ever gone to in New York?... I don't know how it works, but do know that it does not compare to any UPS, USPS, whatever store you usually go to. Just go and see...
