The worst experience ever . I would never ever come back here again ! I should have known when my food came out literally 3 minutes after ordering , that something was off ..... Ordered chicken and Waffles , chicken was great , however the waffles on both myself and cousin plates were so freaking cold! Because I was hungry I did eat some . I informed the waiter that the waffles was cold and she did offer to get me more , however , I didn't want to wait again for food, therefore I told her it was fine . I asked her to inform the manager of this as it was unacceptable and to ensure that the next customers doesn't receive cold waffles . Myself not my cousin did not see her inform anyone, and because of that, I did ask to speak to the manger . A lady came , whom I really doubt was the manger but whatever. First off she was very condescending and showed little sympathy about the concern . I then said that , an establishment should be a little bit more sympathetic when a concern like this arises. She then stated that she could give a free shot or something due to the cold food. Me nor my cousin wanted a shot so we declined but we asked for a banana pudding as it was her birthday . The banana pudding was literally a piece of banana on the side of The cup ( yes just one piece and a cup full of whip cream . My cousin stated it was bitter and she couldn't eat it . I informed the manager she stated do we want cake. I informed her that I was good and didn't want to try any other food items in the establishment. I then asked her to just take my cousins waffle off the bill and I'll pay for mine and everything else and she agreed . Moments letter , a guy tells me to come to the front , the manger wants me . Get there she stated she can not take the waffle off because my cousin bit in it ! Aren't you the manger , how could you not take it off ? When you just said you could . Of course my cousin bit in her waffle . How else would she know it was cold , however they threw her entire plate of uneaten food out ( so I literally was charged for food that went in the trash ) She then stated that she could take 20 percent off the bill . So when I look at the bill I see 10 percent off the bill . I told her that the 10 percent doesn't match the 20 percent that was spoken of and advised I'm not okay with that . With an attitude she took the bill back from my hand and changed it to 20 percent and stated in Spanish something about money to some lady in the front that was working with her . I told her the money isn't the problem ! I've been to plenty of 5 star restaurants, this happens to be the cheapest establishment I've visited when it comes to brunch , however when you give cold food , expect a problem .
My cousin said her drink was good . The chicken was also good. Everything else was nasty ! The so called manger attitude was nasty and the next time you decide to speak Spanish , don't assume that a Black Woman can not understand what you say...
   Read moreI try to be as fair as possible with reviews but that also means I have to be honest. At first glance this appears to be a nice reastuant, nice layout with proper spacing and welcoming for the most part. I was part of a party of 4 with a reservation at 6pm however our table wasn't ready so we opted to eat outside.. no biggie. Upon being seated we met our waitress who at first seemed fairly pleasant. We were given water however we did not receive napkins or utensils, I know that can be overlooked so we didn't stress about it to much we just brought it to her attention. A few minutes later we all placed our orders, 3 of which included the fried chicken and 2 sides.. the last order included salmon. Long story short we didn't receive our food until an hour and 30 mins after. When the food did arrive I noticed quickly that the chicken was a day old and had been refried, it's actually very similar to the chicken served at Kenedy fried chicken, which wouldn't be a problem but that's not what I paid for. As time went on our waitress seemed over us and honestly it didn't seem like she paid much attention to us, there were people who arrived after us who received their food before us. On top of that our friend who is lactose intolerant was given Macoroni and cheese to accommodate her salmon order ( because it took too long) Something that should be noted is that gratuity is included in your bill which isn't an issue but our waitress definitely did not deserve the generous tip we HAD to give her.. there was also a $30 service fee which we honestly couldn't figure out. To some this up this reastuant is more so for bragging rights.. its for people to go out and talk about how much they spend on food and drinks... there's nothing really hip hop about it, a few throwback paintings and dated play list. Playing Hip Hop in a reastuant doesn't make the establishment a Hip Hop theme. Overall it's just over priced and sub-par.. one and done for me. I read other reviews and I'm glad to see others had a more pleasant experience... but for all transparent purposes... there are a lot more reastuants...
   Read moreThe Venue is amazing but the drinks where wack and service wasn't good either. But again the venue was sooo nice for everything else to be meh.. I'm back 2 years later. Changed the star from 2 to 4. Well the wings were really good, the shrimp and grits were also good, the catfish and rice was good/ok a little weird. I don't know! As a foodie, the menu is just so weird its like huh? The Frozen white Sangria was ok but it was actually yellow. The menu just doesn't match the "Grandeur" of the Venue.
Now if your planning a brunch with more than six people, there will be good luck. My friend and I came in so she cold check the place out for brunch, the girl at the front, who just has to be a relative or a favor for someone, she was nice but lacks the aptness to be in the front of the house. My friend asked about the brunch and her response was to call the number to get an email and then send an email..... Do you see where I'm going with this? So once inside and we were having dinner, I actually called for my friend - guess who answered the phone lol! The girl in the front! HA. I could barely stop laughing. So I ask about the brunch for 12 people, and she gives the email address. My friend at this point was sort of confused, I told her to just ask for the manager. We spoke with the Assistant Mgr who was pleasant and helpful and basically told my friend to send an email and check with the girl in the front. My friend was like, not the same girl who told us to call, YES! The same girl My friend took out her phone to send the email, on the way out the same girl said she had just received the email. This was amazing. WHO IS IN CHARGE HERE? WHOSE COUSIN IS THIS? She is nice but she is definitely not a front of the house person. The entire ordeal was crazy but hilarious to me. That "Hook up" with the family member will always cost the "Business" at the end! But I guess its ok...
