Came into this location to purchase a product and pick up a birthday gift. The birthday was two weeks ago It is now December 26 I have never in my life experienced an issue like this with Sephora and it really tarnishes the brand. For starters, the only person that greeted anyone was the security guard in the front despite there being multiple associates huddled. The line was extremely long and disorganized, and the store was extremely hot while in line waiting to check out we were told we can check out with another associate off the line and agreed because it was very hot. We mentioned how hot it was and the sales associate told us to take our jackets off because a woman just fainted. We were only there making a purchase for one item. We do not need to takeoff our jackets. We need you to hurry up and check us out so we can leave. During checkout we also formed the associate We wanted to pick up the birthday gift. When I tell you, I am appalled. This rude, disgusting Caribbean woman named Kerry Spoke to us like we were children stating we had the entire month to pick up the birthday gift And since we were at the end of the month, it would be hard to get a gift in all of my years shopping at Sephora have never heard of this. She then stated how about she give us 200 points instead because the birthday gifts are useless this is extremely unprofessional because what do you mean how are you telling me as a customer WHAT YOU THINK IS THE BETTER OPTION???? We stated we did not come there for 200 points. We came there for the birthday gift. She told us there were no birthday gifts and we can go to another store. I am disgusted and would never return to this location ever again in my lifetime and would suggest other residents Taking their money elsewhere. People are not going to be spending all of that money to be spoken to like children and to not leave with what they came for as other reviews have stated about this Caribbean woman she does what she wants to do not with the customer wants I’m disgusted and would like someone to train her. Save yourselves time money and comfort from...
Read moreRacially profiled. Not the first customer to experience this at this location.
Initially, I walked into the store and browsed for a bit before speaking to an employee because I could not find what I was looking for. The first employee was helpful, and I was able to pick up two items that I thought I’d liked.
If you’ve been to this location, you know how hectic it is. In the middle of having a conversation with the initial lady, and setting my things down to try out the make up, I come to realize I cannot locate my phone.
I set the items DOWN ON THE DISPLAY before opening my bag and rummaging through for my phone (not that it matters, I’m allowed to look through my own bag whenever I please).
Out of what seems like thin air, this lady who did NOT offer me help to begin with asks me if I needed help (whilst I am trying to locate my phone) and shoves a bag into my hand without even asking if I needed it. “Here’s a bag for you” ...I had two items. There were women around with armfulls of different items but, for some reason, this woman stops ME.
I would like to mention, just to further corroborate my story, that I walked around the store twice without help, looking for a “Jouer” concealer that I soon found out by the employee that HELPED me… is NOT carried in store. This woman did not see me until she thought I was a thief.
It was so embarrassing that I grabbed my items, and left IMMEDIATELY. I had full intention of continuing to shop that day, but after that encounter I will NEVER return to this location. I understand theft, and being on alert but she was BLATANTLY stopping me from what I was doing to ensure that I wasn’t a thief or something. Your employees are causing you to lose out on money...
Read moreI had an extremely disappointing experience at Sephora in New York, mainly due to the store manager, Katie— kerry a blonde woman with glasses. Her behavior was beyond unprofessional.
From the moment I entered, there was no one at the front to assist customers. As I wandered around looking for help, I finally spotted Katie and asked for assistance. Shockingly, she reeked of marijuana, as if she had just stepped out of a smoke-filled room.
I had a large order worth about $1,000 and needed help, but instead of assisting me, she told me, “I’m not supposed to help you. You should go yourself and get your stuff.” She then started complaining, saying she was tired of working. She even told me, “You’re making me work.” When I asked, “Isn’t that your job?” she became even more irritated.
Like in every Sephora store, customers usually receive free product samples after making a purchase. However, when I asked for some, she rudely responded, “These are free gifts from the store; don’t ask me or pick what you want.”
After completing my purchase, I reviewed my receipt and realized that she had given me the wrong products and even added items I never took! When I confronted her about it, she started yelling at me, blaming me for the mistake, and even saying that I couldn’t read properly to understand my own receipt. When I showed her the mistakes, she refused to help me and passed me off to another employee, who, surprisingly, was kind and professional.
To my shock, Katie or kerry turned out to be the store manager. A manager should set an example, not treat customers this way. This was by far one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had, and I will think twice before shopping at this...
