Not so much! Stingy portions and TERRIBLE sauces. Ok first the good news, the goat tacos and the queso fundido were very good although the queso was 50% sausage. Good sausage but it competed with the tasty baked/melted queso. The bad news: Contrary to some reviews I read, (maybe the night I went , it was a different cook) were TINY! The namesake guacamole was about a half a cup at most; the tacos, although tasty, where also very small one the smallest tortillas, I've ever seen. But the thing that pissed me off the most was that they served up about 15 tortilla chips that fit in a little metal cup! When I asked for more, the waiter told me I'd have to pay extra!! And then the next offensive thing were the sauces. First, there were no sauces, well, only a teeny green yucky one, on the table, I had to ask for some red sauce for the chips. They brought me some about the size of one of those containers that you get when you have to serve yourself your own ketchup - I'd say about 1ounce's worth-and it was THE WORST tasting stuff I've ever had. ....and I'm old!! I've been to a LOT of Mexican restaurants. lol I kept asking for some other type of sauce hoping I might find one that was better-green, red and finally this "hot" sauce that was made with liquid smoke-I swear, I know that smell and flavor very well. Margaritas weren't great but I did appreciate that at least they weren't sickening sweet as they are in some restaurants. Other good news, the waiters were nice and attentive and the decor is very nice and a fun mix of families and young couples. But ultimately, I won't be going there again unless I'm in the mood for goat tacos and...
Read moreI placed an order for pickup via ChowNow (link through Google maps) at 5:36pm. It said that my order would be ready around 6:22pm. I thought it strange that an order for pickup would take the same amount of time as delivery, but I assumed maybe it was busy. I arrive on time to get my order and the hostess asks my name. I tell her and she informs me that she'll let me know when it's ready. At 6:45pm I ask the hostess how much longer because I had someone watching my children just so I could come pick up this order. She asks me what I ordered. I tell her 1 order of flautas, 1 order of guac and 1 order of elote. She goes to the kitchen and tells me they're working on it right now and asks if I want anything to drink while I wait. I check on seamless how long the wait is for delivery. It's estimated at 30-40minutes. At 7:02pm the hostess comes back and asks again what I ordered. I tell her to just cancel my order because it's been too long and I have to go back. She asks me to wait one more second and goes back into the kitchen. She finally hands me my food with a smile. The food was okay. I was not impressed. It was NOT worth the wait. I wasn't offered any compensation, discount, free dessert or anything of the sort. I am disappointed at the quality of service and food I've received. I don't usually complain much because I've worked in restaurants in the past, but this is unacceptable. I could have had a a full dine-in meal in the time that I waited for pickup... Twice! I've attached pictures of what I ordered. (I did receive the toppings for the flautas on the side along with chips...
Read moreWe recently visited Pico de Gallo and had an overall enjoyable experience. The nachos were fantastic—crispy, fresh chips loaded with flavorful salsa, guacamole, and just the right amount of spice. The portion was generous and perfect for sharing. I also loved the tacos, and the rice was a standout side dish—perfectly cooked and seasoned. Plus, the $5 happy hour beer special was a great deal, especially on a Friday evening at 7 PM.
However, one issue left a sour taste in my mouth. My son asked for a small amount of lettuce and tomato on his taco—a topping that’s typically included on most tacos. To my surprise, when I got the bill, I noticed an upcharge for this addition. I’ve attached a picture to this review to show just how minimal the portion of lettuce and tomato actually was. Even if they charged $1, it’s hard to justify the cost for such a tiny amount.
This small but petty move overshadowed what would have been an otherwise 100% positive review. Business is about being transparent and honest with your customers, and this felt unnecessarily nickel-and-dime. Such practices can leave a lasting impression—and not the good kind. A little generosity and goodwill go a long way in ensuring customers leave feeling valued, not frustrated.
If Pico de Gallo addresses this, it would easily become one of my go-to spots. Until then, I hope management takes this feedback as an opportunity to focus on customer experience over...
