Review for Northlake Mall: Safety Concerns and Lackluster Experience
It is with a heavy heart that I feel compelled to share my incredibly disappointing and concerning experience at Northlake Mall, located in north Charlotte. This shopping destination, once promising, has unfortunately become a place of high personal safety risks and a significant decline in overall quality.
My utmost concern lies with the repeated occurrences of shootings that have plagued this mall. The frequency of such incidents is alarming and poses a serious threat to personal safety. The atmosphere is tainted by an unsettling presence, and the overall feeling of security is severely compromised. It is deeply disheartening to witness the deteriorating state of this once vibrant shopping center.
Adding to the distressing state of affairs is the growing vacancy within the mall. Numerous stores have gone out of business, leaving vast stretches of empty spaces. The overall ambiance now feels desolate and lackluster, contributing to a sense of abandonment. The lack of thriving businesses and bustling activity greatly diminishes the shopping experience that visitors rightfully expect.
Given these significant concerns, I strongly recommend exploring alternative shopping destinations in the Charlotte area. Carolina Place and SouthPark Mall, for example, provide safer environments with more robust security measures in place. Not only do these alternatives prioritize customer safety, but they also offer a wider variety of shopping options, ensuring a more fulfilling and enjoyable experience.
In conclusion, Northlake Mall's current state is disheartening and raises valid concerns regarding personal safety. The numerous store closures and vacancy within the mall further contribute to its overall decline. It is in your best interest to consider other shopping centers, such as Carolina Place or SouthPark Mall, which prioritize safety and provide a more vibrant and fulfilling shopping experience.

Read moreI had the opportunity to go to Northlake the first time in months. I also went to Macy's and it was so very nice. The Mall itself was so much better. People seem to be more kind than before this sickness. The Mall had really gone down hill and it was uncomfortable to go there to shop. It was becoming a "hang out". The sickness has brought a possible change to Northlake. It was so encouraging to see the Mall as it was, Welcoming. At one time I shopped at Northlake quite often and If it remains the way I've have experienced my visit I look forward to going back Northlake very soon.
Undate - * - 1 star about 2 weeks after this I went back to the store to return some things from a relatively large order. The person helping me called herself the "returns manager". She was so rude and ugly I was embarrassed for her. She did not ring up all what I put up on the desk to be returned but I didn't say a word. I thanked her when she finished and just left. I got to the car and looked over what she rang up against my receipts and there were 5 items she took and did not credit me. I made up my mind Macy's has used covid as an excuse for long enough for the many errors on the last three orders I've made. There were always mistakes on orders way before covid but at least then there were enough people to correct the errors. I got on the computer when i got home and wrote Macy's Customer Service Dept. a nice long letter with all these ugly incidences that I've had to put up with. I'm a Platinum card holder so they know I do all my shopping there. They never responded to my letter. So I've stopped shopping at Macy's entirely, not by store or ordering. The good thing about all this I picked up my shopping at Walmart and they haven't made a single error like Macy's did me More than Once. But as long as there is a Goodwill or 7/11 open I'll never shop at...
Read moreI was a wardrobe stylist doing a segment on the local news around 2012 I had done several segments on the news and did them the same way. I put a ad out on craigslist for models 18 and over and I held a casting in a public place usually it would be in a Starbucks. This time I held the casting in the mall at the Starbucks. The mall police had called the news to verify if I was doing a styling segment and they contacted Craigslist to take down the ad. However I didn't know why. I showed up at the mall there was one model waiting for me and the mall police were waiting for me as well. They interrogated me, I was so scared and nervous I was a very young 20's early 30's at the time. I have never been in trouble or done anything wrong and don't feel I did anything wrong. The police saw I was a woman who was not a predator and I was holding a casting to be on the news and they still harassed me for almost an hour. I was mortified. I believe once they saw I was a young woman who was not up to anything illegal and I was in a public place with a open Starbucks In the center of the mall they should've stopped pressing a issue where there was not an issue. They told me they would banned me from the mall and at the time I had a part time job at that mall they were very aggressive with me and unprofessional. I didn't deserve to be treated that way. Despite the casting, My style segment was successful however I will never forgot how those police treated me.If they would've assessed the situation maybe realized they were incorrect I wasn't a 65 year old man preying on underage girls then maybe they could've apologized to me and admitted they were wrong! I think something should be done and the mall needs to correct their behavior that the police did to me. It was...
