I am starting a series of Reviews of Local Arc Stores, so follow me if you want a good reference to other thrift stores in North Denver.
Updated 1/24/25-- Visited six times over the last month and a half.
If I had to pick a store in Northwest Denver, this would be in the lower end, and as a result, I rarely stop in. Arcs are usually decently sized--not this one. It feels cramped the moment you walk in,the store simply does not have the floor space to sell product. Contrast this with the Arc in Brighton or off 120th in Broomfield.
Clientele/Vibe: Meh. While it is quiet in here, the actual shopping plaza is a joke from what remember how it was in the 90s as a kid. The landlord of this retail corridor hasn't updated a single thing since that time, so watch out for potholes. Also, it's next to several bus stops and the highway, and EB Rains Park, so homeless people tend to trickle in here and congregate outside the stores.
Prices: This is a thrift store, I find the folks complaining about prices to be somewhat justified, but most of the time being dramatic. That said, prices here are higher than other places, but occasionally they have a deal.
Cashiering: This place tends to have lower volumes than other stores, so time to Point of Sale is less, but they seem to take their time if there is a line.
Worst Areas: Clothes. I never thought I would say that, but the clothes section is awful! It's just so small! Everything is so small in this store, there's not enough room for anything to be put out! It's even worse being a guy, there's like two rows of clothing! The Linens and bedding section isn't anything magical either.
Best areas: Books seem decent here, Furniture selection is decent, and they have strongmen on hand it looks like. Cable section is...
Read moreYour problem at this store is the boss her name is coral this is the worst boss I have ever had she don't care about her employees she don't care about her store and she doesn't care how the place looks there's trash everywhere on the floor clothes on the floor shoes scattered everywhere toys just thrown there and all she's worried about is you make sure you get those racks done and put away not how the store looks or how the customers need help or help with the dressing rooms it's about putting the overly stocked products away that is your problem is the boss who cares nothing about employees doesn't know how to communicate with employees has nothing to say only if you speak Spanish that tells you something there and she always in her office doesn't come out and communicate with customers to try to find out what customers are complaining about always on vacation since I've been there 3 months until she fired me I've already seen her on four vacations so that's your problem is a boss that doesn't want to be there but likes to take vacations and doesn't care about the store or her employees it could be a better store and it could be around better if she was out of the picture I think Shane would make a great boss he does a lot more than Coral will ever do at least he goes out and communicates with customers while she sits in her little...
Read moreThis Arc is along my commute, so I've been stopping in once or twice a week.
I would say the pricing in this store is relatively inconsistent, but as a whole more reasonable than nearby thrifts. There are some things here that really shouldn't be re-sold (looking at you - crusty and moldy camping chairs), but I've been able to find some absolutely fantastic deals on furniture and home goods.
Comparatively, Mile High has higher quality goods but the prices are absurd ($100 for a wood end table??) and it's cash only. Goodwill is more consistent but higher pricing (somewhere between Arc and Mile High) - and the product quality is about the same or slightly higher than Arc.
The reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 3 (with 3 being reasonable and average) is because I've only ever experienced phenomenal staff interactions. Granted, I've only made purchases and picked up furniture (I've seen some poor reviews on the drop offs).
P.S. - I'm a guy, so I don't typically even bother engaging in the clothing sections and this hasn't factored in to my...
