We tried the 50's room and spent over $230 to take our family of 8 for what we anticipated would be a fun evening. We have done other escape rooms and have always enjoyed them. The room itself was cute, but some of the puzzles needed a little upkeep. The game master stayed in the room with us the whole time and ours was not friendly at all. She seemed annoyed with us and unhappy in general. We all had a miserable time.
Response to owner: We did NOT use force to open anything. The "deep fryer" was unhinged from the back when we first examined it - we pointed this out to the game master and she blamed us for breaking it. This was just one of the puzzles that needed upkeep I mentioned in my review. She also was very forceful and rude about taking away any puzzles related to this piece of equipment. If she was worried about us being forceful and breaking things, why did she leave the room for 5 minutes to "go to the bathroom" after we pointed out the deep fryer puzzle was broken? We know escape rooms have rules. We have done many and never had any problems. Maybe if you provided more than one white board and one marker for a group of ten to record clues, I would not have pulled out my phone to use it's notepad feature. When the game master snapped at me for having it out, I showed her that's all I was doing. I felt like I was in highschool being reprimanded. Your response to my review sounds like yet another reprimand. That is not the experience I paid a lot of money for. Also, you claim you had no success reaching out to me privately. That is untrue. You emailed my son and he has responded to your email and communicated with you through text. Your tone in those conversations was much kinder and apologetic than the accusations you have leveled in your response...
Read moreSuch a disappointing experience. We were close and walked over to buy tickets. The tickets are 29 per person UNLESS you have less then 4 people then the price is 39 per person We were not informed that it was more expensivefor less people. We weren't told price or that there are no returns. The owners were rude and unwilling to make the situation right and blamed us saying it was our job to double check the price. He blamed us for everything and refused to refund or take care of theircostumers. Save your money were out 40$ each and didn't even get to do the room... noteven able to go back and try for a good experience because the rude owners put such a sour taste in our mouth
Edited to add we were given a 10$ refund and told that we could use the rest as credit only . As I originally said we don't want to come back because of how poorly we were treated by the owners. Also I want to point out that they are accusing my review of being untrue instead of fixing the problem I think that just further shows that they blame costumer instead of taking accountability. The solution to this problem is simple. Originally when we called the owner it was just to point out that prices should be posted (originally we were going to come back when we had more people we just wanted to point out a suggestion of posting prices and return policy) but he was so aggressive and rude we decided that coming back just...
Read moreThis was probably the most terrible escape room I've ever played. I almost never leave reviews unless an experience truly lets me down, so let that make a message for itself.
I've done 45+ escape rooms across the United States as my family and I travel. We happened to be passing through and searched out a few escape rooms in the area. We had high hopes for their supposed most difficult room, The Electric Chair. Not only was it poorly developed, it was nowhere near a 4.5/5 on the difficulty scale. The props were not working (I will not say which props as not to spoil the game) and some of them were not secured in place, leading us to believe they could be moved around (nothing screwed down could be moved), but the game master shamed us for moving them.
One thing that really bothered us was how the game master was in the same room with us. She paid us no attention, even going so far as to sit in the corner on her phone. I have done escape rooms in which the game master played a character in the room and they were fantastic. This not only felt like a cheap excuse for not having cameras/microphones to control the game behind the scenes, but completely ruined the experience for us.
We asked to speak to the manager after the game regarding our poor experience and she was very rude. Unfortunately I don't believe we will ever come back, nor would I ever recommend this experience to...
