Came in here in old yoga pants and grungy t shirt. No makeup, hair in a bun etc. Was 5 months pregnant and just getting over morning sickness. I hadn't been out in months and I felt gross so my husband said he would treat me to some new makeup. I picked out a bunch of products that I apparently looked like I couldn't afford. Every employee in the store kept walking by asking me how I was doing and if I needed anything. It got to the point where it was every 5-10 seconds. I have anxiety and this was making me very nervous. I was about to just leave when two cops come in and walk up to me. The two employees who had been helping me earlier swoop in and all 4 surround me. One reveals herself to be the manager and she says that I have been in the store for almost 3 hours and that I had refused all offers of help so obviously I was shoplifting?? This was an outright lie. I had been there for a little over an hour and the manager and the other employee had talked to me for like 15 minutes when I first got there, helped me pick out brow gel and even applied it for me. I couldn't believe that the manager was outright lieing to the cops while I stoop their with makeup on my face that she put on herself!!! They were loudly accusing me right in the middle of the store, it was very busy and everyone stopped and stared. The cops made me take everything out of my purse right there. When the manager saw that I had a half used naked lip gloss she she goes "oh well we sell that product here she probably stole it let me check" so she walks 15 feet away to the display and like checks to see if I stole the sample??? Who would steal a used one??? At this point the cops said "well it looks like you didn't steal anything but they have the right to refuse service to anyone" and he looks at the manager and is like "do you want to refuse to serve her" she nods her head yes as fast as she can with a crazed look in her eye like I'm just the absolute scum of the earth. The cops tell me I have to leave and they awkwardly escort me out and then stand and guard the door and watch while I get into my car. I drive 25 minutes to home and then break down when I get there with crying and a severe panic attack. This incident greatly affected me and most likely my unborn child as well. I have have been battling shyness and social anxiety my entire life and this incident sent me so far back I became basically agoraphobic and rarely leave the house. I contacted corporate and the regional manager but never got a response. Will never ever...

Read moreThis is specifically about the Salon at Ulta.
This was my first visit to the Olympia Ulta Beauty Salon with Brandy and overall, I had a bad experience today. I was disappointed in the service, the stylist, and the overall unethical conduct that occurred.
I booked a cut and all over color which I have done several times at the Lacey location. I arrived early and the stylist was ready, which I appreciated and we got started right away talking about colors. This is where it started going downhill. I wanted my roots touched up and when I mentioned I wanted to switch to blue tips for the ends of my hair from a faded red she said we would have to lighten it. Okay, not a big deal since I have done that before with my stylist at the Lacey location. The coloring goes fine, though it seemed like she was doing a balayage when lightening my hair. I figured she knows what she’s doing. When we finally got the hair lightened on the ends and the blue in she had another customer come in for their appointment. I felt bad and waited almost an hour until she got back to me to finish. I asked for my bangs to be trimmed a certain way, specifying how I wanted them arched and where they should end. That didn’t happen. They ended up uneven and lopsided. To top it all off when we went to check out I was being charged an extra $165 for “full highlights” on top of the cut and color prices to equal a whopping $295 hair appointment (not including tip). I obviously wasn't expecting that. I have never been charged this much at the Lacey Ulta for the same service. I also am upset that while we were discussing how I wanted my hair colored the stylist NEVER discussed prices and that to lighten my hair it would be an additional charge.
I only got my roots touched up, not an “all over color.” I didn’t get “highlights” and I feel the stylist was not being honest or thorough in her work when it came to listening to me and being open with me about prices. When I have done the same thing at the Lacey location I was always told if there was going to be additional costs. I will never return to this location for...
