While the facility and equipment are nice, there is a significant lack of gym etiquette knowledge among the members here which gets very frustrating. There is no reason to take up one of the four or five benches in the free weights area with backpacks, towels, and water bottles to stand next to it and do bicep curls. Please move off to the side so the bench can be used for it's purpose. Likewise, people often stand in front of the dumbbell rack looking in the mirror or workout, blocking access to all the other weights. Tons of members taking "naps" on machines just doom scrolling on their phones or zoned out. One member had the chest fly machine for the entire hour and when I got closer I noticed he was reading a book. Today, a member bumped into me while I was bench pressing because she was walking backwards which was extremely dangerous. The crazy part is that she was receiving personal training and the staff member didn't seem to use that as a teaching moment to have awareness of others.
I understand other members pay the same monthly fee to be there and have the same right to the machines as much as anyone else, but there is zero common courtesy. It would take 60 seconds for a trainer to walk with new members at sign up to teach them some basics, like trying to limit to 5 minutes to a machine to free it for other members and all the other points...
Read moreAfter my visit at Crunch, I have decided that I will not be returning. Here are my reasons: The front desk service did not seem to be welcoming or informative in any way. While exiting the gym, my partner and I weren't even asked if we had enjoyed our workout/the space. When we had initially showed up with our guest pass in hand, it appeared that the reception worker did not know how to proceed. It felt as if we were asking him for a favor to workout at this facility. When you enter, you have to leave your gym bag in a cubby area where it is cluttered with other people's gym bags (or "leave it in your car"). I guess Covid doesn't seem to mean a thing to these people. The equipment layout is horrible. If you enjoy working out in close proximity to others, meaning machines directly 1ft apart, then maybe this gym is suitable for you. Each machine has 1 towel and 1 spray that is reused by everyone who uses that machine. I don't believe this is at all sanitary. There should be an option and station to grab disposable paper towels instead, but there isn't.
This gym portrayed itself to be immensely conscious about Covid precautions, but turned out to be the complete opposite. I had higher expectations, especially being that this location just recently opened. Perhaps better customer service at...
