I am normally a clean-shaven guy, but after several weeks in quarantine and not shaving, I had a fairly full, scruffy beard. It had been at least 12 years since I had been to a barber shop, as I do my own buzz cut with what's left of my 50 year old hair. Well I decided to treat myself with a shave/haircut/facial/face massage package at V's Cityscape. I set-up an appointment and choose my package via their website. It was easy and convenient. I showed-up about 25 mins early and grabbed a seat in the lobby area. As soon as I sat down, one of the barbers directed me to come back to his chair. I did and told him I had an appointment for the facial package and I was a little early. He went up to the front desk computer for a few minutes and came back, confirmed what I wanted and told me to take a seat. He got right to business, quickly trimming some of the beard scuff randomly, then he began cutting my hair. He used some kind of cool razor blade technique, not just regular electric shears. It felt very thorough and detailed. Then, right as he finished my hair, he asked me "a favor." He requested me to go sit back in the lobby because he had an appointment waiting for him. I thought that was odd, but I obliged and sat awkwardly with my face half-shaven in the lobby. After about 10 mins, another barber, Pedro, directed me to his chair. Pedro apologized and proceeded completing the remainder of the package services. The facial and the shave were fantastic! My face felt so pampered and refreshed. Afterwards, during payment, Pedro advised me the first barber used a different technique then what was included with the package, so the price was going to be slightly more then the $85 package I had booked. The actual price ended-up being $105. At this point, it was my fault for not speaking-up and saying something, but I was feeling good and didn't want to a big ordeal over $20. Now looking back, I am a little disappointed with how my appointment went and the up-service I never requested. If the quality of the service had not been so good, I might be a little...
Read moreMy partner and I attempted to contact V’s directly via social media and their official email but received no response after almost a month so I have to bring it here.
We have been coming here for about a year now - generally a good experience with some one off negatives with inexperienced barbers (some family nepotism). Said barber(s) not doing the full service being paid for/extremely poor quality cuts and fades. We are talking entire chunks of longer hair in some areas that weren’t even touched.
That isn’t the reason for this review though as the other was just a simple fix of sticking with one barber. This time my partner had an extremely aggressive hair cut. “I feel like I just got beat up in the chair” were the exact words. We have both seen this barber before, and he always is going as fast as possible with little care, but some people prefer that kind of style and I respect that so we never mind when it’s us with that specific barber because ultimately the cut is good. Not this time.
Attached are images of his extremely irritated and cut skin. For reference we both have very resilient skin and don’t get irritated easily - him especially. He was in physical pain on his neck for 2 days after. This was negligence and poorly managed/sharpened tools. Luckily I had topical antibiotics on hand but this is how serious infections happen.
I’m not going to name anyone for this review as the owners and other barbers know exactly who I am referring to (in both instances). I again would not have posted this publicly if I...
Read moreThe place looks nice and classy on the surface but dont let this fool you. I had an appointment for 11:45 and I got there at approximately 11:35. I walked in the door with someone right behind me. I told the guy at the counter that I had an appointment at 11:45 and he said my barber would be right with me. The guy right literally right behind me said he was a walkin and the guy gets seated in a barber seat IMMEDIATELY and gets his hair cut right away. Seriously? I didnt get to start my hair cut till 12:02. WHATS THE POINT OF HAVING AN APPOINTMENT? Then theres the hair cut where you think theyd redeem themselves right? NOPE. Whatever the guys name who did my haircut clearly doesnt know what a double 0 medium fade looks like. In addition, there wasnt even a front line up to the hair cut. I got a line up from the sides and the back.. ITS A DOUBLE 0 ON THE SIDES YOU SHOULDNT HAVE TO LINE UP ANYTHING! Overall terrible experience and I wouldnt be caught dead...
