Given how busy this place is, I had high expectations, but it left me underwhelmed. It makes me wonder if this reflects the overall quality of breakfast options in Phoenix.
First, let’s start with the positives. The prices here are reasonable compared to Los Angeles, which was a pleasant surprise. The location is charming, with a relaxed ambiance, and the staff is welcoming and attentive. The food arrived promptly, so I was hopeful for a satisfying experience.
However, the eggs Benedict, the main attraction of my breakfast, was a letdown. The eggs were overcooked, losing the rich, velvety yolk that makes eggs Benedict special. The English muffin was barely toasted, leaving it soggy and lacking the slight crispiness that’s essential to balance the dish’s textures. The potatoes O’Brien, a classic side that should add a warm, crispy element to the plate, were unfortunately lukewarm and soggy, as if they’d been sitting under a heat lamp for too long.
My coffee experience wasn’t much better. The first cup came out lukewarm, which I found disappointing, especially as coffee is often the highlight of a good breakfast. As for the ham, while I appreciated the effort to serve a solid slice rather than deli meat, I unexpectedly bit into a bone—a small but unpleasant surprise that took away from the overall dish.
On a positive note, the fruit was fresh and added a light, refreshing contrast to the otherwise heavy meal. But overall, the lack of care in preparing the main dish left me feeling unsatisfied.
While the service and ambiance were commendable, the food quality left a lot to be desired. I’ll be searching for a different breakfast spot next time I’m in the area, hoping to find a place that meets the standard I’d expect from a busy, popular...
Read moreWorst-run place I've been to in a long time, especially bad is the male red-headed server.
Firstly, I order iced tea and he brings me green tea. He then goes to get black tea and it's infused with some sort of fruit (not stated on the menu). So I decide to change the order to a cold brew "on tap" which took several minutes to get out. I ordered my eggs over medium. He visits the table when the plates are dropped, and not again until after we are both finished. However, the problem with not visiting our table for 15 minutes means that when I cut into my eggs, they are undercooked for even over easy. Uncooked white comes spilling out onto the plate. When he finally does show up I say the eggs are undercooked and since you took so long for a table check and our whole party is done eating I don't want anything else. No manager visit and he drops off the bill with my item on there at full price. He copped an attitude immediately when I complained about the egg cook and that it took him so long to return. His response was "Sorry, I'm busy". Well news flash! You're un the service industry and you pay is determined by how well you serve the guests. At that time I look around and see 5 other people working there standing around chatting with each other. There were far too many staff who are apparently unable to handle even a less than half-full restaurant effectively. So the eggs are under and uneaten and they charge us. I tell him it's customary to send out a manager when food is cooked wrong. He cops another attitude and lies flat out saying he checked on our table several times. This is obviously a poorly managed/owned place as the servers have the attitude that they're doing us a favor by just...
Read moreEach time I come they have an issue with putting all the ingredients it says on the menu on the dish
and when I call to correct what I’d like to eat due to my taste buds and what I’m paying for some of the front of the house staff have a nerve to get agitated and go gossip in front of the open window it’s unbelievable and unpleasant !
I had an issue one other time and they took the food to remake it today they exaggerated the situation and pretended on every occasion that I came I had an issue that was false it triggered me to a point of literally wanting to curse out the female manager on shift today she said my partner never had a problem but I did it’s a problem that my food was not to my liking however my partner had two complaints prior regarding her drink and her syrup on two other occasions
the servers and front of the house needs work when it is not busy they are slow and take more time talking than working when it’s busy they are slow.
So I’m confused if they believe their work ethic and customer service to ALL!!!!! Customers are great if so they need professional counseling and etiquette classes.
We come often due to our career and associates another time we came the bartender could not properly make a sunrise it tasted horrible but her simple coffee drink was good as if she needs to go back to bartending school if she’s even legally licensed that’s questionable I seriously doubt it. All in all it helped motivate me to realize I probably have a better career, mindset, and future than them and it’s not the end of the world life goes on what may work for...
