Wonderworks was just that - absolutely wonderful! It is a very unique experience, and there is something to do there for all ages!
I thought that the ceiling was so interesting in the lobby. Its matches the exterior - an upside down house! To enter everything, you have to either walk through an inversion tunnel or some double doors. I went through the inversion tunnel, and while it was super cool, I got so dizzy that I had to sit down after I got out! I used to be able to handle those well, but I chalked it up to me just being old, haha! My son, however, thought it was the coolest thing ever!
We really liked the anti-gravity water exhibit. That was really cool! You can hit a button and the water will literally change directions in mid-air! My son couldn't wrap his mind around it and was totally fascinated with it! The Tesla coil was pretty cool, too. You reach your hand inside of a sort of chain mail glove and the electricity touches your hand from the coil! Its completely painless, but you can feel a little tickle. That was awesome!
We had a lot of fun with the flash room also (I forgot the actual name). You stand in front of a wall, and when the flash happens, your shadow stays on the wall for a short period of time. We had a lot of fun goofing off and playing with that. There was also a room where you could walk across a screen and see yourself like you're in a music video. That was awesome!
I wish the space training gyro ride would've been open when we went. My son was going crazy wanting to ride that! I rode one when I was younger and thought it was cool. I had talked to my son about it and he was looking forward to it so much! Perhaps next time! However, we did ride the rollercoaster simulator. That was a ton of fun! I loved the music inside of it (yep, I'm a music geek). My son loved the ride so much that he asked the operator if we could ride it again when she opened it up. There were nobody in line, so she let us go it two times in a row. I thought it was fun also, but it pinched my inner thigh pretty hard. I'm not a light person, so all my weight being pushed on the ride is probably what did that when we were flipping.
Honestly, there is so much to do at this place, that if I continue, I'll be writing a novel. I rate it 10/10 - definitely recommend! Check it out of you're looking for a fun place and love science!...
Read moreThis place is absolutely amazing! The architecture will blow you away! It is absolutely a great bang for your buck! This place entertains on multiple levels it doesn’t matter how old you are. There’s something in there you can do or you will find fascinating! You can spend hours in here and not even realize you’ve been there that long!! we were able to visit tons of attractions! There were several things that we were not able to partake in because of the crowding! There is sometimes too many people in here which makes the wait times ridiculous! Which leads me to my other issue, I was standing in line waiting for an hour for an XD movie experience with my 10-year-old daughter. Of course, standing in line this long someone’s gonna have to go to the restroom so to save our spot line I’ll let her go and I stayed! When she returned, I tried to let her get back in line with me and there was this grumpy old man who snapped at her and at me about breaking the line! However, I watched him let several other people back into the line so what made us any different? When I tried to explain what happened and that she was not breaking the line, I was removed from the line with a snarly attitude from this old gentleman that I have pictured below! My advice if you’re going to hire employees to work in a facility around children, they have to be friendly! This guy didn’t have a piece of friendliness in him, not sure if he was having a bad day, at this point do not care because he definitely made my daughter feel uncomfortable!!! and as a grown older gentleman, you should know children have to use the restroom, especially standing in line that long! The way he handled the situation he better be careful because any other person it could easily have turned into something different with his attitude! We were having such a great time until we encountered him! I didn’t care about doing anything else and neither did they! For us to start off so awesome it ended terribly! Just so you know I place the picture so you know exactly who I’m talking about! But for the experience, it’s a great place. Just need...
Read moreWe visited the Wonder Works attraction today 08/31/25 @ 12pm. We made it about an hour through the attraction when my kids wanted to do the indoor rope obstacle course. We got in line and waited our turn. Once at the front, the guy running the rope course told the kids to step up on the scale to make sure they met the weight requirements. He then proceeded to tell my wife and I to step forward. I told him we were waiting and wanted to get out of line. He followed up with a nasty reply of “waiting on what”? I said “my kids, what else would I be waiting for. He then got a major attitude and started threatening me. I told him I wanted to talk to a manager because he should not be threatening a paying customer. He pulled out his name bad that read “MATT D., OPERATION MANAGER” and told me no one was above him and there was nothing I could do. I told him he needed to watch his mouth because this was unacceptable. He replied “or what, what are you going to do”? He finally said “you know what, you have to leave follow me”. We followed him to the front of the store and he asked me for my receipt. He said we had to leave and was not welcome back. As we were walking out, he spoke under his breath and called us a racial slur. There is no way this guy should still be employed. I will contact corporate and see if there is in fact anyone above this hateful guy MATT, OPERATION MANAGER AT WONDER WORKS IN PIGEON FORGE.
**Update 09/12/25- Their General Manager, Joe, reached out via FB and wanted more details. I provided via email exactly what happened and provided in details the slurs used by Matt D. referencing people of Hispanic heritage. He replied and said they would look into it and speak with others on shift that day to get their side of the story. He also reassured that since this was an internal problem, he could and would not provide an update as to what their course of action would be. So basically, they obviously are going to cover for their boss, Matt, and he will probably get...
