The Applewood Farmhouse Grille Breakfast is like Grandma's Home Cookin'. It's out-of-this-world Awesomely Great Food.
You get so many choices for your main meal and for your sides, that it was so hard for me to make up my mind. Do I want Eggs and Bacon, or Pancakes? And if Pancakes, what kind? Sprinkles, Choc Chip, Plain? Or French Toast?
Well, my Favorite server, Crystal, eased my distress by telling me that I could get the Eggs and Bacon With the Pancakes or French Toast. Cool Beans!! I decided:
My favorite is the CINNAMON ROLL FRENCH TOAST.
Imagine a big, round, thick Cinnamon roll with white Icing, split in half, grilled a nice-golden brown, TOPPED with melted Icing, And served with Warm Syrup on the side. You can order it with as much Icing on it as you want, or on the side.
It's SO GOOD!! Ya GOTTA TRY IT!!
The FOOD is always excellent, always delicious, and the servings are Big and cooked to order. The CHEF is extraordinary, and very friendly.
The SERVICE is awesome. The servers care about their customers, especially Crystal, who is My favorite server.
She has a big smile and a cheerful greeting for you when she brings your Basket of Apple Fritters and Apple Muffins with Apple Butter and Apple Julep.
Crystal is very friendly, courteous, helpful when you are ordering and her quick and efficient service makes your dining experience that much better. She makes sure your food is exactly what you want. She makes you feel right at home. She's like family to me.
I always enjoy my meals. The food is so delicious.
The Manager, Casey, is extremely friendly and helpful. He is a great Manager, as he steps in and performs whatever duties are needed to keep the restaurant running very smoothly. I've seen him bussing tables. I like him the best.
He has a 5-Star, All-around Greatly...
Read more100% recommend a visit here, not only for the fantastic food, but for the shops and experience. But, I'm here to review the Grill, so I'll get to it.
First, the food. Fried chicken was mouthwatering and moist without being full of water like some experiences we've had. You can taste the buttermilk they use. So good. Fall off the bone. The green beans and mashed potatoes that came as sides were just like my family makes, seasoned and perfect.
Hot chicken and dumplings were a hit with my son. I tasted them, too, and so good. Too hot for me, spice-wise, but the consistency and texture and just all of the above, were so good. But the cayenne pepper kick is too much for me unfortunately. My son raved the whole time he ate it.
The chicken salad croissant was the best I've had in years. I had to order it for one: it was hot as the Gobi desert outside and I wanted something cool. And two, I read the ingredients and knew it was going to be terrific. It was loaded with chicken chunks, plenty of pecan and grapes. So good. I saved half for later and was still in love then. The waffle fries that came with it were just okay. Kind of heavy on the oil tasting to me, but I was there for the chicken salad anyway.
The surprise treat of apple fritters when we were seated was great. I've never had them before so I was skeptical because I'm not a baked apple person (yeah, I know, then why come to something that sells apple everything) but these were so good! They're like little donut holes. So tasty.
The atmosphere is totally family friendly. Old-style building and decor. It was nice to watch the Parrot Mountain finches in their enclosure while we waited (which was not long at all, mind you).
Our server was one of our favorites from our entire trip. I wish I remembered his name, but he...
Read moreWe have been coming to the Applewood facilities for almost 40 years, 4 generations. It never disappoints! This particular visit on Saturday, September 27, 2025, we called in early and placed our party on the waiting list for 1:30. When we arrive, they said our name was not on the list, they did not take calls even thought I did exactly what their website said to do, and that we had to go to the grill. I showed them on my phone where I had called and the person I had talked to. So we went to the grill and they said no that’s the number that you call for the farmhouse. I told them I was told at the farmhouse that they do not take calls. When I ask what could be done since neither place had our name down, they went and got the manager who immediately said we will seat them and we sat down with four adults and five children. You cannot imagine how happy everyone was and how thankful we were for the excellent customer service! Thank you, thank you to the manager, who made sure that we were able to get it in and take part in this experience that we look forward to several times a year. In this environment, where nobody seems to care for anybody else, it was nice to know that the Applewood community Still exemplify what we have known for 40 years. We have been brought over a family members and will continue to bring them here after you to the facilities! I could give 10...
