We stayed here in July/August 2023. Google Maps turn by turn directions were spot on. Before we arrived, I received a text message from the park reminding us of the reservation, check in process, including where to find the welcome packet if we check in after hours, and a helpful reminder to turn left into the "no outlet" signed area. Again, Google Maps knew this tip as well. We arrived right at closing time, and met the campground hostess as she was taking our packet to the after hours location. She served us as if we were inside in front of the desk. Check in was smooth. We were self guided to our site, as there does not seem to be an escort service as some campgrounds use. We arrived at site 257, a large end cap site. Please note the trailer set up pictures are from the same site. The site had nice hook up close to each other. Super easy and convenient. Water, electric, sewer, and cable. The trailer sits on a large, level, I'm guessing 40 foot long concrete pad, with the ability to still park on either side of the trailer and be completely off the campground roads. All sites also include the mentioned above and a fire ring. All sites are large and include spacious grass on each side of the sites. Also, pictured in this review is the public bathroom. This bathroom is centrally located within the campground. It is very clean and well maintained. But also includes a laundry room which is also pictured in this review. At the main office building, you can find another set of bathrooms and an exercise room. The exercise room includes dumbbells, barbells, a treadmill, and exercise bike. The room is roughly 20x20, the common size as a kid's bedroom. The swimming pool is a nice size and seems to be heated. There is no zero entry into the pool. The pool ranges from 3 ft deep to 5 ft deep. It is very comfortable and relaxing. Lots of places to sit. There is also a hot tub. There are great views of the mountains from the office and pool area. You can see some of the Pigeon Forge attractions from the campground. Things like the Titanic, the Hatfields and McCoy's dinner show building, and Beyond the Lens. There are other reviews that state you can hear the music coming from the Titanic. It is true. However, you cannot fault the campground. Also, in my opinion, the music coming from the Titanic is not distracting or annoying. It's no more of a sound then kids playing off in a distance for your camp neighbor playing music. Except for at noon when the Titanic blows its horn three times. But ultimately it is what it is and in my opinion is not a distraction. The picture below is from sight 210 located in the front of the campground just in front of the picnic pavilion. This is probably the worst view of the Titanic and other attractions.
Ultimately we for sure will be back. We will be back to Pigeon Forge. We will be back to Gatlinburg. And we will return to Pigeon Forge Landing RV Park. The park is easy to get to. It is...
Read moreThis RV resort was almost perfect! The price for 4 nights wasn't too expensive. The place wasn't super crowded, even though it's close to the main strip of Pigeon Forge. It was clean and well-kept! We would definitely stay here again!
Things I loved about this resort:
The restrooms and showers are fantastic! Our showerhead in the camper busted on our way up when we hit railroad tracks that knocked it loose. The showers attached to the restrooms were great! Clean, well-kept and with great water pressure. They even had a handicapped stall, which I thought was wonderful!
The bark park. While I didn't end up taking my dog to it (It was clear across the resort from my camping lot.) I thought this was a fabulous little spot. I wish it was a bit bigger for larger dogs, but small to medium dogs would have a great time running around in this fenced-in space. The pavilion is right next to the bark park, and I saw that it has fans to keep people cool while they make use of it.
Trash pick-up: We've only been using RV parks and campsites for about a year, but this is the first resort who actually offered to pick up our trash each morning! We made use of this service a couple of time, if we weren't going to be leaving by 10:30am. Otherwise, we used to convenient dumpsters at the entrance of the campground.
A few things I'd like to offer advice on:
You need a bigger notice about the GPS issue. My 68 year old father missed the small printed sections in the single email that was sent that stated certain roads were not passable for campers. So, we ended up on Apple Valley Road, White School Road, and one other that GPS sent us to, but had large posted signs saying "no campers." If our camper had been any larger than the 22ft it was, we would have gotten stuck. This needs to be on your website and in large print on an email sent the day before check in.
The "Waterfront" camp sites have little to no view of the actual water. And the bank has not been managed to allow access to those who paid extra for the waterfront lots. We had a small window view of part of the river, but we couldn't get down to the...
Read moreReally large (80') concrete sites with best-in-class hookups. Excellent water pressure and very quiet location with a great view. I was also very much appreciative of the ease of the late check-in process, and the ease of booking the site online.
Just some informational neutral feedback, in case it is helpful for you, is that it appears like this place attracts retirees and/or single couples. I don't think I saw a single child playing outside while walking our dogs (on a weekend afternoon of perfect weather). I think I maybe saw two children using the pool during our first few days here. I also noticed that there were a lot of very expensive Newmar rigs with one being $1M (I asked the owner). I would also say that the rest appeared to be part-timers in the upper echelon of incomes (based on the condition of their vehicles, age of trailers and various little things I noticed.
The location is decent, but challenging to find if you aren't familiar with the area. The staff sends you instructions on everything to avoid and not to blindly follow GPS, however they didn't tell us where we needed to turn off the main parkway. I ended up accidentally turning where I wasn't supposed to, but luckily found a mini golf place to turn around in. FYI, the street to look for off the main parkway is Apple Valley Rd. Furthermore, the cost of this place is well above the national average for its amenities at $110 per night, so the value for the money isn't there for us. I've stayed all over the place and paid closer to $50-60 for these same amenities (TX, OK, IA, OH, etc). Typically, the places that charge north of $75/night have tons of activities for the kids, hosted events, catered dinners, lazy rivers, mini-golf, fully functioning convenience stores, etc.
Overall, we'll keep this place on our radar because large sites and easy late check-in is important to us, but admittedly I'll be looking at other locations for our next visit to...
