My diamond engagement ring was stolen when we stayed here. My husband and I stayed here July of 2018- this year. The issue we had was not with the rooms but with the staff. My ring was stored in my belongings, and it was STOLEN by one of their maids while we were out of our room that day.
We spoke with the manager and he told us they hired her knowing she had previous criminal history. We then called the police and the Best Western management immediately after we had searched our room from top to bottom. The manager said his wife had been in our room with the maid to keep an eye her while they were cleaning. The police report I received days later after the incident said otherwise. The wife was cleaning the room next door while the maid who stole my ring had our room all to herself!
The manager and his wife made no effort to apologize or even offer a discount or refund. We called Best Western management again and they spoke with the manager who said "If they didn't feel safe staying here they could have stayed somewhere else." That is inexcusably egregious- especially since they hired someone with a history of stealing ($1,000 of merchandise on their criminal record! Which I was able to find her criminal record online).
It is also concerning that the manager never had cameras installed outside of the hotel room doors to see who comes in and out. Also, they do not have key checks on the card readers on the hotel room doors. The lack of security we found was astonishing.
It was not until 2 1/2 weeks later that the detective from the Pigeon Forge police department finally found my engagement ring in a pawn shop in Seymour. It was pawned by the maid who cleaned our room and was the suspect on the police report. I'm blessed that my ring was found, but I would never stay at this or any other SureStay Best Western again after this happened. I'm glad that the Pigeon Forge Police department found my ring. If it were up to me, I wouldn't give them any stars for the review, but in order to post this review I am required. Please avoid this hotel- their management and security...
Read moreThis is the first time I’d ever been catfished - and it was by a business. The pictures of this place make it look gorgeous, inviting, clean & a great place to stay. Pictures are deceiving!!
The woman at the front desk was the ONLY good thing about this place. She was friendly and attentive.
We were given a ground floor room at first. It was like stepping back in time! My fiancé literally cried as the realization of the mistake we made settled in. There was a jacuzzi in the middle of the room that looked as if they had glued pieces together and it hadn’t been cleaned since 1995. The bed sheets were stained - and not JUST stained but tie-dyed with dirt and body fluids. The bed had 2 pillows and the sheet had cigarette burns in it. The latch on the door was completely missing! Not even broken but MISSING!
We called the front desk - and the woman working changed our room to another room in a different section of the place.
When we opened the door, the smell of Indian food that had been basking in the heat for what smelled like 4 months slapped us in the face like Will Smith did to Chris Rock. The room was dirty and the sheets looked as if someone either broke in and took a nap, or staff needed to take breather.
I wouldn’t stay here if I was paid to. The only nice thing about this place was the staff at the front desk. We spent less than 15 minutes here before realizing we were catfished.
Thank goodness we were able to find another reputable hotel nearby - or we would have been driving through the night to go back home.
This place needs MAJOR renovations and a sterilization from top to bottom.
Location is great - but it looks like it could serve as the set for a scary movie or...
Read moreYou can see from my previous review and decided to go here again. NEVER AGAIN!!! Decided to come here for the 2nd time and walked in and asked about getting a room for 2 nights. The guy there said yes we only have one room available and the price says it will be $540.00 I told him that’s fine I’m not paying that price. And walked out. He didn’t seem to mind at all even with the parking lot empty. You can check the prices online and see what the going rate for this hotel is. Definitely not over 250 a night. I will never be back to this place again. So this guy was going to keep the over $400 he was charging me for the room. It would be worth it to the owners to hire a manager that is trust worthy and honest. This hotel would benefit from a management Apple valley Inn is actually a pretty decent hotel despite some of their reviews. Staff was very nice and didn’t say anything when I requested to check the room upon checking in. The nice lady took me to the room and actually allowed me to check a couple of rooms while we were looking, the first one we looked at was fine but she opened the door to a coupe more and all 3 rooms looked the same and all were clean and acceptable. Nothing out of place. Now this is not a high class hotel in the least but it is a very good place to stay if you want value and location. I would definitely stay again. If you try it you would say the same. I came in expecting the worse and was pleasantly surprised at the room and how clean it was. Good Job Apple Valley Inn you won a customer when I come back I will definitely be...
