Pros--Generally fairly well stocked -Convenient from where I live with large parking lot -Prices are reasonable, but not exceptional -Good late hours
Cons- At times very overcrowded -Difficult to get anyone to help me if I have questions or can't find something. -When I shop, there is only one, or sometimes two cashiers available ---- there are several self-serve registers which can be difficult to operate and are obviously a cheap attempt to save money by not having adequate registers -The very few cashiers often have no baggers making the registers' line badly over long and time consuming. -The cashiers are often rude and unpleasant, understandable since they are overworked with very little help. -Lastly, there are personnel that are not only rude, but actually cuss at me. One guy in frozen-foods has cussed at me regularly, ie, if I slightly move a box to get at an item to buy! Further, the guy blasts his stereo down the aisle. I have tried to talk to this guy who will not talk. I have mentioned this to a management personnel who maybe BRIEFLY talked with him. This guy should either get mental help or be fired. It seems to me that management does NOT take responsibility for monitoring employees, either overworking them or not controlling people who don't know how treat paying customers.
IN SUMMARY, I TEND TO SHOP HERE (20 YEARS) BECAUSE THE STORE IS CONVENIENT, WELL STOCKED, AND PRICES ARE ADEQUATE. THE PEOPLE ARE OFTEN RUDE, OVERWORKED, AND UNHELPFUL. I FIND THE DEGREE OF HELPFULLNESS/RESPECT FOR THE PAYING CUSTOMER IS HIGHLY LACKING. IF I COULD FIND ANOTHER CONVENIENT GROCERY STORE I WOULD SHOP THERE, BUT FOR NOW I JUST DEAL WITH IT &...
Read moreThe worst customer service ever I was over charged and charged for items I didn't even have in my bag at the service desk the associate was not comprehending what I was saying which was simple to return the whole sale and re- ring it so the issue would be fine not to mention the fact that an item I got was on sale for 1.74 but the stipulation was must buy two in the tiniest of lettering so I didn't see it but I got three of the items and the price still didn't match and after asking for these items to be taken off and fixed I was told to shut up by a manager at the desk which I definitely didn't appreciate at all and it was very disrespectful to me when she was the one that messed up after hearing me say this looks too much while at register with the young kid that was cashing me out then they tried put my cash paid out of pocket on a gift card and I respectfully decline the offer by my math no cash would have been needed I think the strike is making these people rude and no caring I will never go to this location ever again 😡😤😠 no one tells me to shut up when I'm talking it dose not work like that and I hope the lady gets a serious write up if not suspended or fired because it was very inappropriate and I will never stand for it and did not when she said to me I kept talking and followed with I need to speak to your manager she refused so I had to call in to speak to another manager and I hope that it was a real one cause if not then that is inpersonation ... Still piterbed about this...
Read moreStop & shop is usually a great place to stop in and grab some fresh fruit. I just wonder when there profit taking is going to end. People are really suffering cause of all these price increases. They just keep climbing. The higher ups don't care about the little people. It's not just stop & shop. I was in shaws the other day. There just as bad how can a grocery store run out of bags of sugar, this is going on a month now. I actually asked to talk to the manager a few weeks ago about the store putting products in locations with no prices marked anywhere. They carry two types of tangerines, one of them are on sale. The other isent. Yet they pile them all together so some people will get the sale price. Some won't. The manager didn't give squat about what I was saying to him. He started with the IAM so shorthanded. I have pages of products that didn't come in. I think he wanted me to feel bad for him. Are you kidding me. These food stores don't have to do a lot to bring people in. People need food. But there taking advantage of us shoppers. For 4 yrs I've been complaining about not have a scale at each end of the veggie section. I have M. S. And can't always walk thru the store. They have one scale to weigh veggies and it's all the way down inside the dept. They figure if they can get you to use scale down the back. Your going to grab more things while walking to scale. They have all these trucks. I was going to contact the Patriot ledger about this. But I said...
