Love this place. I had seen the coming soon signs for Bon Chon when shopping at Stop & Shop next door. I happened to try it on the day they opened. 1st, the drumsticks were so crunchy with a juicy inside. I got them with the Korean BBQ sauce which had amazing flavor and a little bit of a kick. they will split your order into two different sauces if you request. The drumsticks are a good size and the 5 pc is definitely enough for most people. 2nd, the bone-in chicken wings were also really tasty. Again, they were satisfyingly crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. I ordered these split with half yangnyeom sauce and half soy garlic. Both were really good. Out of the three sauces I tried - I’m not sure which one I liked best, maybe the Korean BBQ. But I would suggest ordering it with two different sauces. 3rd, Korean Tacos with fried chicken. These had so much flavor. Definitely get with the spicy mayo. I like a little bit of spice, but not too much, and these tacos were perfect. The three tacos were on the larger side, and it’s definitely enough for one person. 4th, the seasoned French fries were nicely crunchy and the perfect level of garlic and parmesan cheese. 5th, Korean street corn was so much better than KFC. It’s not plain corn. The seasoning and cheese were amazing. If I had to pick by favorites, I’d say the Korean tacos and drumsticks. For the sides, I’d pick the seasoned French fries. If you are with other people, I’d suggest ordering different items and sharing. The variety of wings, drumsticks and tacos was great. I like a spice level somewhere between mild and medium, and everything I ordered wasn’t too spicy. Everything seemed to be very fresh and the chicken they use is definitely better quality than KFC or Popeyes. I’m so glad there is a good fried chicken place in Quincy. This is a definite...
Read moreThe staff are really friendly! I was REALLY disappointed in the food after always hearing how great Bon Chon is. I ordered three of the 6 piece boneless & the pieces were smaller than even store bought nuggets, a little larger than a quarter-as in 25cents, & they were overcooked and dry. The sauce was also way too salty which overpowered the flavor. Definitely overpriced for the quality & portions. I probly won't go back. The plate in my picture is a small dessert plate, not a full size dinner plate so the pieces look larger as a result. Also for some reason the website took my order, charged me, but didn't go through on the store end because an item was out of stock. The staff are all being trained & so were unable to refund my online order while I was there & the trainer was not in the store. It was really busy so I'm hoping they were able to figure it out. I don't fault the employees at all since they are all new & overwhelmed with crazy large crowds and trying to learn the systems. In my opinion the site for Quincy shouldn't have gone live until the staff was fully trained. It also shouldn't allow for ordering the plate lunch if donuts or fries are out. My price point for the order covers the order I got and the order I'm waiting for...
Read moreI haven't had Bonchon in a long time due to some not great experiences at the Allston branch, but seeing as they opened one near me I decided to order some for dinner. I was vastly disappointed when I opened the boxes. The boneless chicken was MUCH smaller than I remembered, with these being literal bite size pieces when it used to be at least 1.5-2x bigger. If I'm paying over $1/piece surely they should be at least not be able to fit into a tablespoon right? In addition, I had ordered 3 flavors - yangnyeom, spicy, and soy garlic. The yangnyeom was the only one covered in sauce while the spicy and soy garlic had barely any sauce on them, to the point where I could barely taste anything else but plain fried chicken. I have to say though, I liked the crunch on the chicken, though I'm sure the lack of sauce played a part. The seasoned fries were delicious and the Korean donuts were very fluffy, but missing the dipping sauce. Overall, for a $44 meal plus $7 tip, I will say it was not worth the price at all. If I were to try again, I would definitely order the drumsticks instead since those seem to be a decent size.
Update: Tried again and ordered the drumsticks. The meat was moist, but very bland. I think I'll stick with bb.q chicken...
