Five Below — Attraction in Ramsey

Note this review is about employment I worked here for the overnight shift last winter. I worked from 12AM to 6AM. Not only did I get held until 7:30AM, I was NOT paid for my time there!! I worked there for a week until I had to let go of my job due to a family situation. I went to pick up my paycheck when they told me it was due, and they told me they didn't have it and to come back in 2 weeks. So, I did. Still didn't have it. They said another 2 weeks. This went on for about 5 months until they finally told me I didn't fill out proper paperwork, and therefore my hours were not accounted for. They told me to login to their website with a user and password I was not provided with, and re-fill out the paperwork so they can issue a check. I kept calling them for about 8 months trying to figure out how to fill out the paperwork and if I could come in person, and they never gave me a solid answer. I finally gave up at a point, but it is very frustrating for the fact that I put in about 18 hours and did not get paid for any of it, and they did the absolute minimal (at best) to help me get my pay. I was extremely disappointed especially because I would take my little sister there all the time. Little did I know the poor treatment that went on behind...

Just visited the Ramsey, NJ store in the Interstate Shopping center. The worst manager I ever encountered. I called up the store and she answered the phone. I asked her if she had any "shopkins", she said Yes. I asked if she could hold them, no she said. I asked, how many do you have? I am coming from a half hour away. Let me look she said. Gets back on the phone and says she has about 20. I asked "if I give you a credit card will you hold them. No she replied. I drove over. When I asked where the shopkins were she said to wait on line they were behind the counter. That in itself is weird. I wait in line get up to her counter and she informs me, she can only sell me three. What? I called you earlier and you said you had 20, you told me nothing about rationing them...I said. Why did you not tell me that on the phone? You didn't ask, she said. I asked for the manager, she said I am. How dishonest, unfair, rude and just plain bad business. I will never shop at that store and hope if one of her superiors reads this they explain what customer service means! As for you, Ms. manager "what goes around...

Five below is a good store and has plenty of selection but just doesn't seem to ever have what I am looking for. If you are hoping for a typical dollar store then this isn't it. That being said it is a great place to get stocking stuffers because there are a lot of gadgets that are here like electronics and chargers and stuff. There are plenty of candy as well so also a plus. From a seasonal standpoint there isn't much that is too appealing. The selection is limited and most of it looks like gag gifts or gag ornaments. If you are looking for random gift items this may be your store but if you're looking for home stuff then this isn't the...
