Parks Place Smokehouse — Restaurant in Rexburg

This place is incredible! I'm originally from Texas, so I like to think I know what good meat tastes like, and this hit the spot! I had the 1/2lb brisket burrito. The meat was perfectly tender and juicy as all getout. 10/10 brisket! As for the sauce, oh my glory, SO GOOD! It perfectly compliments the brisket and good glory it's impossible to put into words how much I loved it! The service was top tier too. The wait time was enough to where my friends and I could get comfortable in the cute dining area, but not long enough to where we wondered where the food was. Low wait time and super friendly staff! The owner was super cheerful and friendly and informed us on some deals and events around town. He was also super sweet and seems to really love what he does (I can't express how amazing this food was, seriously) The atmosphere was awesome! The place reminded me of a smokehouse, and there was a dining area next to where you order. It was great to get away from the cold wind Rexburg has, and the decorations inside were perfect! All around, best atmosphere I've seen in Rexburg. High praise, I know, but the owner has clearly put so much thought into this business, and it shows. Most places around town have cute generic stuff, but this is another level of understanding the trade. It perfectly suits the country town America vibe. Park Place Smokehouse in Rexburg is easily one of the best local spots in town. Just as a note, if a business has 5 stars with hundreds of ratings, I expect it to blow me away. This was not my experience.

Good: -Service was kind and quick -Some of the best brisket I have had in the region -On par pricing with other places

Bad: -Mac and Cheese was soggy (noodles way overdone and starchy). It was a different flavor, not a classic southern baked mac and cheese, but if that's your thing to add different spices, you might like this. -Boneless pork rib is just a country style rib (super cheap cut). It was tough, although seasoning was decent. -No sauce was offered at time of order or included with the order. I didn't know I needed to ask (if they even have any?) -Cornbread was nothing to write home about -Limited side options, no baked beans, etc you expect from a bbq joint

This review of course is based on my preferences and opinions. I did live in Georgia for a bit, and this I would rank as definitely middle of the road even for the region. I haven't tried Sparks yet, but definitely prefer Blisters over this. Probably...
