Since I am sitting in the parking lot waiting for my internet order to be picked let me share with you a horrible customer shopping experience over $4.
I needed 3 packs of 9 foot extension cords so I find them on the website for $5.19. I think about doing an online order with pickup but I am in a hurry so I figure I will just chance it and go buy them in person.
Upon arriving to the store I find they are $7.29. I double check the upc. Yep the same. I cringe because I already know that the clerk at the register will not be able to override the price even though it is their own website. What a hassle over $6.
I ask at the register anyway and nope go to customer service. I get to customer service and the sole rep working is putting the new ad into the display. Probably should have been done before open but nope. He then proceeds to tell me he is going to be a few minutes and that I should go shopping if I need anything else.
I tell him I just need a price match to their website. After about 3-4 minutes of me watching him put the ad up he gets down and comes behind the register. He then informs me that he can only price match one item.
I say and I quote "So let me get this straight. If I order online and select in store pickup I get the 3 items for $5.19, but if I come into store first I can only get one?"
His response is "Yes". I then tell him to return the three items and he watches me place an online order for pickup. It has now been 1.5 hours and no ready for pickup email.
All this stupid BS over $4. So why would Target not empower their employees to show empathy and take care of the customer the first time.
I have been a retail store manager for big box and small box for the last 17 years and it would make me very angry to have a customer experience go down like that over something so stupid as $4.
Click on my profile. I don't need your $4 and in fact all the time you wasted has FAR exceeded the hassle but this is not a matter of principal.
I already filed a negative survey, I plan on asking for the general manager when my order is ready for pickup, and I am going to be filing negative yelp and google reviews.
All over $4. Target, you need to take a good long look at your internal policies because...
Read moreAs with Walmart, I thought my first experience here was because I went the afternoon following New Years, but I went again yesterday and it was the same thing. They have poor stock, especially for items on sale, clearance, or on the Cartwheel app. So unless you go when a deal just begins, don't expect to have much luck. The low or out of stock can apply to non-deal items as well though, which is annoying when you're looking for something specific. Disorganized. I'll see a sign or label for one thing but the actual product is something else. This makes pricing items VERY difficult unless the price tag is on the item because you don't know what the item you actually want costs. The shorthand/abbreviations on the price labels don't help much either. A lot of this may be the fault of shoppers not putting things back in the right places, but employees should be ensuring that aisles and shelves are organized and correct. On the other hand, a few instances were just poor store organization. When you have a sale sign up on a shelf, the products below the sign should be the on-sale products. It's confusing and annoying when it's some other brand entirely and you have to go searching for what's actually on sale. Furthermore, when the display shows or lists things, those items should be there. A display for Champion showed Activewear according to activity level: low, moderate, high. But I couldn't find the activewear designed for the low activities, there were just the moderate and high. Very confusing. Overall, definitely been to better Targets. Hopefully my experience will improve...
Read moreplaced an order online for an item that website said had 9 of, just to make sure it wasn't taken. It said it would take about 2 hours which I found puzzling to begin with. I arrived about 1 45 minutes later and was told my item wasn't ready. I asked how an item that was already in their store according to the website could not be ready. They said there was a queue (to which they had no access) and items were only going to ready when the queue said so. I asked them how long and they said they couldn't give me an exact time. I said forget it I will just get one off the shelf. Went back to where they are kept and there were none on the shelf. Went back to pick up desk and asked for manager. Got this story about how it would be "unfair" for them to just go get the item for me when there were others in the queue. Mind you this was 7 PM on a tuesday night. I was the only one at the pick up desk. But according to the manager, rules are rules. Finally I got the email and another employee told me there was a bin in the back with my item and they would go get it for me. Most likely it had been there for a while and the picker just hadn't got to their computer to update. Manager could have double checked or asked someone to look into it but clearly had no interest in taking care of a customer standing right in front of them. THE LESSON IS CLEAR. DO NOT PLACE AN ORDER ONLINE FOR PICK UP UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOT OF TIME...
