It was a very unpleasant experience, the truth is, yesterday afternoon my husband and I went to buy a phone! Since we don't speak much English, we were looking for someone to help us, preferably someone who spoke Spanish, so we could understand much better when buying the new phone we wanted. We asked someone there if there were anyone who spoke Spanish and they said yes, that there were two people there who spoke Spanish and that we could go with them! We approached the table where those people were! They were with a client! When we got to my table, about two minutes passed by, someone very rude, the truth is, he told us that he was very busy with a client and that he didn't know how long it would take to help that person! and that besides he was going to leave that he would have to go home, he didn't even give us time to ask anything or anything, to which we responded that we were looking for help there in Spanish that they told us that he and the other person at that same table spoke Spanish, but he said I recommend that you go to another table that you need, we told him to buy a phone, he said yes go to another table, well we moved places so we could wait and ask the other person who spoke Spanish, if he could help us if he had the time to help us, but before we asked the person anything! being aserco the other person who was next to him who answered us very badly telling him as well as about us, that we needed help as well as making fun of him, and goes to us he tells us that he is also busy and does not speak Spanish and he is going to go to his break, and he is not going to return to go to another table to be served, again he told us without giving us time to ask the person, I mean literally he spoke for that person! To which my husband replied tell us if they do not want to serve us we are standing here to ask him, because someone told us that he did speak Spanish! Then the guy turns around and says if I am going to go to my break and then I will go to work in the back, we told him can we ask him something, do you think that when he returns from his break he will have time to serve us? He said no and that he would have to go to work later. We then said we could go and get someone else to help us. We said ok thanks and we moved from there! The truth is I don't remember the person's name, but his attitude was really rude! I don't know if he behaved that way because we don't speak much English or he just didn't like us, because a little while later we saw that he finished serving his client and was helping someone else. For me, he and his way of responding and helping were very rude. It's a shame they are like that with people. Afterwards, a girl helped us in English and the truth is she was very, very kind, very nice and understanding to help us even though she knew we didn't speak English very well. So I don't know how to describe my service there but it was very terrible and at the end of the day it was fine thanks to the girl...
Read moreThis review is not so much for the Apple store I visited, but Apple's policies. The people in this store were very nice to me and very professional. I took my 2014 MacBook Air to the "Genius Bar" on last Monday because someone accidentally spilled champagne on my keyboard on New Years Eve. The MacBook is completely functional accept for a few of the keys are sticky. I was told the keyboard cannot be cleaned or replaced without replacing the entire top piece of the computer which I understand because these things are built a certain way. What blew me away was the cost presented to me to replace this piece which was $755! After I about fainted I pointed out I could buy a brand new MacBook for an additional $200. The employee checked to see if he could order the part to the store so they could repair it there and possibly reduce my cost (once again, the employees are great, my problem is with Apple) and of course he could not due to policy. I decided to take my MacBook home to think about my situation a bit before I make any decisions. After doing a little research online I discovered I could order the replacement part for anywhere between $70-$95! Apple, please explain to me why I should have to pay over $650 for one of your technicians to replace this part!? That is just asinine. I was able to find a detailed walk-through online which explains how to replace this part. I get that it is somewhat of a complicated task but seriously, a trained professional should be able to complete this repair quite easily and it should not cost this much money! It is quite obvious to see what you are up to. How convenient is it that a relatively simple repair is just under the cost of a new computer? I can't be the first person in the world to spill something on my keyboard. This is clearly a planned strategy to get someone to buy a new computer. Seeing I am environmentally conscious I have a problem with this. There is already too much stuff in the world. It bothers me you are pushing your products in this manner, especially after all of the awful articles I have read about the resources you abuse and toxic chemicals you put into the water in other countries, all in the name of consumerism. I will say your products are quality (for the most part) and unfortunately I require this quality for the field of work I am using these machines in. Shame on you for your awful sales tactics. I must say I am quite disappointed. I will be repairing my product myself by the way. Thank goodness we live in the age of...
Read moreI made an appointment online because I was having problems with my Macbook Pro 15 Retina crashing whenever the graphics switched over to the high performance ones. This is a known issue with these laptops and Apple is supposed to be fixing them even when they are out of warranty. I took my laptop in and everything went smoothly. The guy I worked with at the genius bar was very helpful and said they would have to overnight my laptop to Apple the next morning (it was a sunday), but that it would be fixed (replace logic board) free of charge and I should have it back in no time.
The following evening, I received a call from the store saying that they had opened up my laptop and found water damage and corrosion. This automatically voided any warranty the computer might have had and that if I wanted it fixed, Apple would "repair" it for a flat fee of $1200. WHAT?!! First of all, I treat my laptop like it's my own God-given child. It has NEVER seen water of any kind. I worked my butt off to save up for such an expensive piece of machinery. There's no way I'd subject it to conditions where it might get wet or be damaged in any way. I talked to multiple people at the Rosedale Apple store about why my laptop wasn't sent to Apple to be fixed like I was told it would. They came up with a bunch of excuses but couldn't really give me a good answer. I asked how my laptop could possibly be subject to water damage when I treat it with such care and respect and the best they could tell me was that sometimes condensation builds up on the inside. Again, WHAT?!! I ended up telling them I did not want them to fix it and came in to pick it up the following day.
After I brought it home, I opened it up to see for myself this water damage they were claiming it had. I looked all over the inside of the laptop and could not find a spot of corrosion or anything that looked damaged. NONE of the water indicators had even been activated. I ended up going across the street to Best Buy and bought a different laptop for a far better price than I could have at the Apple Store. There's no way I'd give my money (or time) to the cheats and liars working at this...
