3 Star Candy Shop Inc — Attraction in Round Rock

If you have a sweet tooth, this is the store to visit. They have it all. They have a variety of nostalgic candies (and soft drinks) as well as their own homemade candies. They are a full ice cream parlor with one of the best selections of Blue Bell around. They've got a fairly complete coffee menu as well. And unlike almost anyplace else, they have a full soda fountain.

I visited on Thursday evening. I got a root beer float. I was truly surprised to see them making the root beer from scratch with syrup and carbonated water before preparing the float. My friend with me also commented on the gigantic scoop of ice cream for her cone.

While the prices are significantly above anyplace else, you're also paying for great service and actual expertise.

Whether you're wanting to treat yourself or looking for some candy you remember from childhood, this is the only place to come -- and worth the drive...

I remember as a preteen a little grocery store on West Mary where I stopped regularly to buy sweets and treats. Soda pop was gnarly! Until now, a candy store was something that I never thought I would be able to share with my children because stores like that are rare. Today, 3 Star Candy Shop located in a nook downtown Round Rock is an operation that brings forward the nostalgia as soon as you walk into the store. You are surrounded by first class candy which brings back favorites like Frostie Root Beer, peanut clusters, candy cigarettes, and lemon drops. There is much more to gape at as you walk towards the counter which doubles as a ice cream parlor. This place rocks my socks off! Not only is downtown Round Rock pretty cool as far as the shops and stuff they've got around but this shop in particular for a candy enthusiast is awesome! They have sodas that are out of this world. I bought a pickle flavored soda, I bought a ranch flavored soda, I bought an orange creamsicle flavored root beer. The first two were horrible but I expected that because they're crazy weird. They have candy and a bunch of bins like I remember as a kid going to the mall and just filling up a bag full of candy and they weigh it. Staff is always cool. Really recommend this place!
