Stumbled into Eats Bakery in Utah and discovered it’s 100% VEGAN 🌱✨ From the cozy inside to the beautiful view outside, this spot is a gem šŸ’Ž #VeganEats #FoodVlog #UtahVegan #IeatzwithDesi #Foodie

Where do I begin? Let’s start with the fact that they’re charging $6.75 plus tax for a medium nothing added latte like they’ve discovered the elixir of eternal youth. (Spoiler: it’s just coffee, and not even mind-blowing coffee.) For that price, I expect latte art that sings to me, recites poetry, and maybe irons my laundry. Now, if you actually want good coffee and pastries, let me do you a favor: stroll a few blocks to Eva’s Bakery or Gourmandise Bakery where the lattes are under $5 and the pastries are pure heaven. You’ll save money and your taste buds will send you thank you cards. But my real ā€œfavoriteā€ part? I asked what kind of chocolate was on the donut. The lovely cashier tried to find out and went over to (I assume) the baker — who was sprawled on the couch, phone in hand, giving strong ā€œI’m on my break from caringā€ vibes. She acted like I had asked her to donate a kidney. Her answer? Over and over: "Just chocolate." I pressed: dark? milk? semi-sweet? She doubled down on ā€œjust chocolateā€ like it was a state secret. Pro tip, Eats: If you don’t know the answer, just say "you don’t know". Being snippy with customers when you’re the new place in town is a bold business model, but not one I’d bet rent on. I’ve already told my coworkers about my experience, and there’s talk of a full-on boycott. For donuts, go to Banbury Donuts. They’re friendly, they know what’s in their food, and they don’t make you feel like you’ve committed a crime by asking. Eats, I’m officially…over it.

I have loved their treats for the past few years at farmers markets and anywhere I can find them, but today was the soft opening of their brick and mortar location and it did not disappoint. On Instagram they said they would have limited options but it looked like quite a lot to me. I had a tres leches cinnamon roll, raspberry lemon filled donut, and caramel latte. All of them delicious and all of them vegan as an added bonus. I was so pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere of the cafe, as I would have been a regular even if it was just a walk up counter spot. However, there is tons of seating and some seating outside on the patio as well. It seems like a great place to do work, study, or meet up for a chat. I hope this is the beginning of a long cafe life for Eats šŸ’–šŸ’–

I love this place! Lots of space for conversations, with a few outdoor tables for couples. Food was tasty and service was really sweet! However, I have a few recommendations:

On Sundays, there are basically no donuts after 10am, so make sure to get there early! Or go another day (we went around 1pm) I ordered an iced coffee, and it tasted a little sour. That's usually an indication that there was something wrong with the brewing (beans roasted too long, or grounds steeped for too long) I ordered a cookie, and it was really good! I think it could have been the best cookie I've ever had if it was warmed up first. I suggest offering to warm up the cookies before serving them This cafƩ does a better job than most by offering reusable plates and cups if you're dining in. However, the cutlery is still plastic. If I had known, I could have brought my own. It would be nice if they had a notice on...

Went to a market downtown SLC during memorial weekend and came across their stand, decided to try. Purchased 3 items: blackberries & cream roll, lavender earl grey mini loaf, and lemon pistachio mini loaf. OMG, no joke, the blackberries & cream roll is one of the best roll I have had for a while. Honestly, it looks super sugary, but it's not that sweet once I had the first bite. The blackberries in between the layers of roll are what it amazes me, it adds the fruity aroma to the roll and makes the roll less dry (most of the rolls I had usually were dry). With cream, blackberries, and roll in one bite, the different texture combo is superb. The other two mini loaves are pretty decent as well, just the blackberries roll totally surprised me! Don't miss their stand if you see them at...
