I had my wedding reception here and used the in-house floral. The entire experience from beginning to end was deeply disappointing. On the day of the wedding my flowers never showed up to the temple as previously arranged. My bridesmaid had to hunt them down - missing most of the pictures. The bouquet was almost exactly opposite of what I wanted and what was discussed. Inside the room the decor was different from what we ordered. There were no lights where we arranged for lights to be. In lieu of a floral arrangement on the food table there was a ridiculous plastic/metal lit up tree "thing". No one had set up the pictures or sign in book as arranged so as my guests we're coming in I was setting things up. In the middle of the reception my brother-in-law had to go search for a microphone which was supposed to be in the room. For how much we paid we were so disappointed. I reached out after the fact to discuss the issues and was never responded to. They sent me a survey in the mail which I returned to them with these complaints and still heard nothing. If you have another venue option I'd suggest using...
Read moreAfter listening to piano music of the church on the ground floor of this building, I was led to the chapel on the 2nd floor where in it sits an organ with inverted keys. At one end of the massive, glassy structure, which gives you a sense of transparency, one can see the Church Office Building and at the other end is the gloriously imposing structure of the great Salt Lake Temple. At this level the temple jumps out at you as you face up to it, not from the ground but, as it were, at eye-level. Simply awesome! The only thing left to do with such an introduction is to pull out your camera and...
Read moreThe Nauvoo restaurant is good food. It was reasonably priced. It was delicious. It was fresh which I really liked and the atmosphere of the old hotel Utah was beautiful and I got to see a few of the old things that aren't under construction which was nice. Not much has changed, it is amazing how well things were put together so many years ago. I wish it was still a hotel. She could easily be the finest hotel in the city. It's worth the trip to come up and to see the changes they are making to the downtown area. The parking is wonderful, very accessible. And made our trip downtown super simple even though all the streets in almost every direction has something going on. I'm sure after you come downtown you'll understand what I mean. But do come downtown. It is worth a moment of your...
