Let me start off by saying I typically leave positive reviews and steer away from leaving negative reviews knowing sometimes thereâs an âoffâ day and no one can get it right all the time. Iâm human and I fully understand this. However, I have been into this Ace many times because of proximity and convenience and I will say that because of my combined and cumulative experiences here, I will not return to this Ace location and will take my business elsewhere. Having worked at an Ace Hardware for three years myself years ago, I recognized the need to be attentive and personable in order to maintain those repeat customers that donât mind willing paying higher Ace Hardware prices compared to larger box store competitors because they enjoy the smaller, hometown feel Ace should give you. This particular store is a separate franchise and they are all too quick to remind you of that (especially if trying to return something with a receipt from a different Ace location...which everyone has had to do once or twice in the past). With employee turnaround it may just be this particular staff that doesnât truly embrace the true Ace Hardware culture. Everyone Iâve interacted with there has been less than personable and less than welcoming (Iâve never been greeted once when walking through the front doors in more than two dozen visits over the past year). I do however remember an older employee grumbling and talking bad about a customer that just left loud enough for basically the whole store to hear. I thought how tacky and what would this employee say about me behind my back in similar circumstances.    Read moreWow... So I went in trying to figure out what fuses to buy for my AC unit at home. I took the old ones in and found someone to point me in the right direction, and was off to try and figure it all out. When I found what I thought were the right fuses I asked "Emerson" if he could help me with the fuses.. He started out trying to be helpful but then as he didn't really know anything about them just turned into a right prick.. I asked him if anyone there knew anything about fuses so that I could be sure to buy the right ones, and put them in properly. He said... "I'll ask..." To which he said over the earpiece mic. "Someone come to the key counter to help a customer." He said nothing about fuses...nothing. So I'm standing there about 5 min. so I asked if he could call again. He said "they must not know anything about fuses". I thought to myself, he never said anything about fuses. So he called for customer assistance at the key counter. Another 5 min pass... I said, "I guess no one is working today?" He again told me that they must not know anything about fuses. So I informed him that he never said anything about fuses and he responded with. "Oh, you're right" and continued clicking around on the computer! This guy was a total smart ass, and was very rude! I finally walked around until I found another guy who was very nice, even though he knew nothing about what I needed he took me to a computer and started searching to find my answer. Fast forward a couple days later and I go back to get cans of paint for my friends house. I go to the counter and spoke to Deborah, she was very rude when asking me questions on what I needed. I continued to be respectful answering whatever she asked. She kept speaking to me in a tone that was extremely condescending and like I was dumb. She eventually turned around, AFTER rolling her eyes at me, and getting me the colors that I needed. After getting the paint cans, I asked her what the best kind of brush or roller was going to be the best that I could use. She proceeded to raise her voice at me and said "I don't know, why don't you google it or just grab any brush and leave the store." At this point I was upset and did not want to conversate with this lady at all anymore. I spotted another employee named Nash and asked him what he thought about the brushes. HE WAS AMAZING! He was so kind, respectful and knowledgeable with anything I had to ask. He helped me pick out the brushes I needed and I left the store not as angry because of Nash being so helpful.
