I really love to view all the vintage, amazing, wide selection of clothes at this local establishment. I often shop for used, vintage clothing and love the experience finding something unique, BUT recently visiting Decades I was followed around by extremely rude and paranoid staff. I was told rules and warned at every turn and touch of hats and clothing. I proceeded to stack a couple items to try on to actually purchase (not try on for fun and take pictures of) and was told by the woman who worked there that I was too large to try on one of the dresses I had picked out. WOW!!!!!!!! Just to make things worse, I was there with my husband who also had clothes to try on, but I had a jacket and a sweater in a men’s small and the woman set aside before hand “his” and “hers” clothes in separate dressing rooms. So he ended up with my items.... it’s 2020!!! Anyway after feeling fat and discouraged trying on my items in the dressing room, I didn’t even care about trying on the items from my husbands dressing room! What a depressing experience. Although deflated, we were still going to purchase some items (a couple hundred dollars) and when we went to check out the credit card machine wouldn’t work.... we left and didn’t care to ever return!! This was literally the worst experience I have ever had! It’s really sad because they have so many amazing items and vintage clothes but I cannot support a local company that is so blatantly rude and uppity. I definitely would not support this company and it is not worth the experience to even enter this...
Read moreDecades is the best vintage clothing store I've ever been in. I recommend it to anyone. They do an excellent job presenting a truly awesome inventory.
That said, I would like, also, to respond to one Darrell Brown who has given Decades a one-star rating. Yes, they have a policy of only one child per adult. I completely understand that policy given the value and fragility of many of the items they have on display. I recall that they even raised an eyebrow at me when I entered with my teenage son. To imply, however, that they were unfair when they applied that policy to you, Mister Brown, is comically hypocritical. It would have been unfair if they HADN'T fairly applied their policy and if you HADN'T been asked to leave. That is how fairness actually works: It's about NOT making exceptions for entitled so-and-sos- regardless of how precious their little angels may in fact be.
I would encourage people to go to this place because it's unique and well worth seeing. I would also encourage people to treat this place like the museum it is. You won't be able to help having fun once you get there, but please treat the merchandise- and the owners-...
Read moreI just happened to notice the store yesterday after the urban flea market. I had no idea that they even existed before that. I am so impressed with their merchandise. From what I saw the prices are reasonable, they have high quality inventory and you get what you pay for. most of us want those perfect vintage items in perfect condition! Decades has that and then some! Some of the reviews are comparing Decades to the DI, there is absolutely no comparison. The inventory that they have at Decades is much nicer and they have a much, much larger selection. I have never seen a larger collection of what I assume is costume jewelry in one place! The collection they have is amazing! As far as the negative reviews about the owners and some of the silly things that were said, such as they hide things, that seems ridiculous! Why would they hide things they are there to sell them? The store cat is a little cutie pie as well. I'm pretty sure it's going to be my new favorite vintage store. I plan on buying a lot of things! I can't...
