Known as one of the oldest Municipal Parks in the U.S., since 1870. It was dedicated as a Confederate Memorial honoring the Confederacy and all the atrocities it stood for... Today, it's a small urban park that is about 3 blocks away from the River Walk that is known to showcase some fine local artwork. It is true that you'll find your occasional vagabond here but they seem to coincide with the rest of the park guests taking their dogs for a walk. Has plenty of parking across the street, which is where I normally park and make my way to the River Walk when in town. You'll find plenty opportunities to visit some of the local bars on your way to the touristy riverwalk from here, and not to mention enjoy some fine beverages at a fraction of the price...

"Director" by the name of Diego approached me claiming I was speeding through where the bank drive-through is (parking area). He Took pictures of my vehicle, parking pass, and license plate. I was not speeding. Maybe 10mph. My wife works in this building. I drop her off and pick her up every single calander day and this has never been an issue. Many vendors barter so it's a neat door to door trip. Not sure why it's called plaza. Did I miss a part of it?
