This review is not meant to reflect the quality of the stores, but rather the ethics of the company running the shopping center itself. Across from this shopping center is the Valley View Casino Center, which hosts several events. After check for any signage at the Sports Arena Square Shopping Center stating that no event parking was allowed, and having found none, we parked at the shopping center. It was a random Thursday evening, and the lot was almost completely empty. It was our intent to visit the Target store at this center, after the concert.
As we crossed the street, we continued looking for any notice that event parking was prohibited. We saw none.
After the concert, we arrived at the parking lot to find that our vehicle and numerous others had been towed. One person that we spoke with had even made a purchase at one of the store prior to attending the concert. To make matters worse, there were many others who were at the concert and who were not towed.
Perhaps what irritates me the most is that according to Google Timeline, we arrived at the lot at 6:49. According to the towing company’s records, we were observed parking at 6:52. Obviously, the security person had plenty of time to warn us that we would be towed, but didn’t.
The managing company of this facility may well take a lesson from some other centers, such as Fenton Marketplace, which has for years prominently displayed large signs that their lot would not allow parking for those attending events at the neighboring stadium. Larger street signs are also placed at all entrances whenever an event at the stadium takes place.
Was I in the wrong for parking there? Absolutely! But, the shopping center is equally or more in the wrong. Based on the time of the observed violation, and the lack of prominent signage, I can't help but wonder if this is not an attempt at generating...
Read moreShopped at home depot today in the sports arena shopping center in san diego to buy a portable air conditioner. This mall has several stores. The brand of portable air conditioner they had, only had one hose outlet going to window. Everything I've read about portable air conditioning says, if u want air conditioning to last more than a few months must buy one with 2 hoses going out window, one for bringing in air and one for blowing out hot air. Customers reviews stared that if u buy the air conditioner with only outgoing hose, the air conditioner will draw air in under your door, windows, electric outlets, etc. Plus the model from home depot is very noisy, and several customers said it broke down within a month or two and no way to get warranty to fix it. That model is the Toshiba.. I reviewed the customer satisfaction remarks about the best portable air conditioner with TWO hoses rated # 1 by home and garden , for noise, efficientcy at cooling, and many more features such as ordered adding a heppa filter cap for the incoming air from forest fire smoke. The whynter model i am buying from amazon costs a little more but will last year's longer according to the review. Plus Amazon will deliver inside the house or into one room so no heavy lifting. You have to request this type of delivery...
Read moreThe Sports Arena Shopping Center is the place where you can find the Trifecta when it comes to the shopping experience:
1.) Targey...er, Target. 2.) Ross 3.) The Home Depot
For your Target shopping impulses, this place is spacious and has the items that most neighboring Target locations do not have. Great selection. Mind you, it can get rowdy in the evening just right when the rush hour traffic commuters and drivers have gone home and have decided to migrate and flock here. Besides that, it is a great place to do all of your one-stop shopping with Ross, Home Depot, and Target kittywampus from each other. Oh, did I tell you that they have CVS too?
Frequent driver? - The complex has lots of parking. Would you prefer to take the bus instead? - The complex is close to the bus stop for the 8, 35, and 9 buses in both directions and is close to a transit center (Old Town) if you need to take the Blue, Orange, and Green...
