February 23rd: I went to Gus’s to buy a small coconut cheesecake, a sushi, a Red Bull sugar free energy drink, a fruit juice, and a salted caramel latte for my dinner today. I have been a regular customer of Gus’s since I lived in San Francisco, so what I bought today should have been just routine, same, good decent quality of food and service as usual. However, when I went to a cashier’s counter to pay for my items, a male cashier dropped a coconut cheesecake container on my green Gus’s shopping basket, which opened a container cover and and spilled whole cheesecake over my basket. Fortunately, a cake spill was not on my clothes or shoes, and a male cashier asked me to bring a new coconut cheesecake, which I did. And I saw a male cashier grabbing a cheesecake spill with his bare hands, putting it back inside a container, and throwing it into a garbage can. I am not sure if he made out my bill with his bare hands, which he used to grab a cheesecake, and I am not sure if he cleaned a green shopping basket I used afterwards, since I left Gus’s right after I paid all my items. But what happened today disappointed me, since when I regularly went to Gus’s, I never doubted Gus’s cleanliness and highly satisfactory customer experience. I just hope what happened today will not affect my overall impression of Gus’s, which has been satisfactory so far.
February 24th: I spoke with Gus’s manager today, and I learned that a green shopping basket I used yesterday evening has been cleaned afterwards. I really appreciate Gus’s thorough and timely cleaning and...

Why are the staff so anti- customer?
What I mean is. I came in at 8:10am, a little bit after opening, to get a piece of fish for lunch. Go to the fish counter, it’s not even set up. There’s one guy working - the big guy, who always has to act so macho he can’t even say little niceties like hello, thank you, etc. Today was his crown jewel, as he just stood there talking on the phone casually for 5+ minutes while I waited patiently…and kept talking until I eventually just gave up. I mean to not even acknowledge the customer at all - that’s just plain rude. Clearly you have more important things to do, and well to be honest, I have plenty of other options where I can do my shopping.
The icing: when I checked out with my other items, I asked the clerk what was going on. She literally shrugged, said it’s another department, and handed me my bag. Wow. Total indifference, a nice verbal middle finger, f-you for coming in here.
Why would Gus’s train its staff to treat customers this way? Especially in a rough market when competition is fierce. Major head scratcher, but I wish...
Read moreI just experienced the worse Customer Service tonight at the Mission Bay Store😡🤬
I waited until the previous customer stepped away from the counter, I proceeded to the counter to pay but the cashier was cutting tape to breakdown a box so I waited until she finished that. I then stepped up the counter to pay for my Item HANDED her my money and she decided to remove my change 1 bill at a time on the counter and slide my money to me. As I thought she would hand me my money the same way I handed it to her. My question to her was, "you didn't want to hand me my change?" I received No answer but instead she chose to tell me Have a Nice Day as I'm walking away and its after 9pm at night. I gave her a pass to Not tell her about herself. Totally, Negative, Rude, Disrespectful and Bad Energy was served to me. She definitely rubbed me the wrong way. Did not get what...
