A Peaceful Retreat in the Heart of San Francisco I recently visited Jefferson Square Park, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The park’s location in the heart of San Francisco makes it easily accessible to both locals and tourists alike. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the lush greenery and well-maintained pathways. The park offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing afternoon picnic. I noticed a good number of benches and shaded areas, which provided ample seating options to rest and enjoy the surroundings. What impressed me the most was the range of amenities available. The playground area seemed to be a hit with children, and I saw many families enjoying their time together. The well-kept basketball court and tennis courts were also popular among sports enthusiasts. One highlight of the park was the vibrant community garden. It was evident that a lot of effort had been put into maintaining the garden, with a diverse selection of plants and flowers. Taking a moment to appreciate the beauty of the garden was a real treat. Additionally, I noticed the park had clean restroom facilities and ample trash bins, which contributed to the overall cleanliness of the area. On my visit, I also stumbled upon some community events taking place. It’s evident that the park plays an essential role in bringing people together and fostering a sense of community in the area. While the park is relatively compact, the clever use of space and the variety of activities it offers make it feel more extensive than it is. I had a genuinely enjoyable time at Jefferson Square Park and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape from the bustling city life. Overall, Jefferson Square Park offers a well-maintained and tranquil environment, making it an excellent destination for individuals, families, and friends to unwind and enjoy nature in the heart of San Francisco.

In 2012, I organized, met with SF City Supervisors and Designed the off-leash dog park at Jefferson Square Park. I gathered over 100 signatures from dog owners that walked the Park. The City approved $100,000 budget for new fencing, signage, benches and water fountains. When then Major Newsom came into office, he cancelled the budget and the park only received new benches and signage. On August 31, 2022, with no fencing to protect from accidents, my boy, Bailey ran into the street and was hit by a Muni Bus. He broke his back legs and dislocated his hips - was paralyzed and bleeding internally. I knew he was in agony and the best thing I could do was to let him go to sleep. 😭 I haven’t gone back to that Park even though I live just two blocks away. I blame our now Gov. Newsom for Bailey’s death! 🤬 My boy, Bailey loved the beach and was the Jr. Giants mascot during Covid. I think about him everyday and I know God will let me have him back when the Earth is made new. Until, then he will always live in my ❤️ heart!

This park has a great dog run on the Western side near Laguna. My dog KayKay and I have spent mornings there for the better part of 2years. This morning was especially poignant for me since I have to say goodbye to my friend. She is going to live in the country with my ex-boyfriend. Small apartments are no place for a 65 pound AmStaff pit and she is much happier playing full time in her 2.5 acre private park called the backyard. For almost 2 years I have cared for her she slept in to same bed as I and went everywhere I went. I have become quite attached to her but now I must set all that aside and think of her quality of life here in a small apartment in San Francisco. I will always have fond memories of the time we spent together in Jefferson Park. She will still occasionally spend weekends with me and if you happen to see us there playing ball stop and say hi. She always appreciates someone with a good throwing arm!

I took my dog there and it was very nice great view on top nice little wrap-around wood staircase that takes you to the wide open grass area and play area for kids not the greatest playground unless your into perhaps the modern playground but it's soft on the feet and has the basics like swing set wide tire swing set it's kinda cool I can imagine it's designed so ther really isn't allot of kids just running around no castle to storm or monkey bars anyway I was there with my dog the people were friendly however they we're not to trusting of my dog Hercules they gathered ther animals when I put him in the dog park off leash he has a big smile and loves to play but he is a blue nose pitbull so it comes with the stereo typing I get it anyways nobody's dog was injured he took all the nipping from other dogs like he usually does with a grain of salt and just had fun its a nice little off leash park for dogs but extremely clean well put together with a view on top and a nice little memorial im sad i forgot the name of one of the soldiers its my new thing when i visit a memorial to pick out a name at random and thank them several times while in attendence had i thought about making a review later i would of written down or something but next time anyway thanks to all the soldiers from around the world who died with goodness in ther heart fighting for what they believed to be the right thing and who had no desire to cause pain or ill feelings to nobody else just wanted to protect the liberation of their family and friends and fellow brotherian may you all rest in peace now or comand your next self and conscience throughout the cosmos or wherever you may be may it be a good journey to take you somewhere peaceful and...

The staff that gardens and cleans do a great job, but they have to pick up needles and clean up after the homeless and drug addicts all over the park. There are not enough garbage receptacles for the dog poop and there should me needle deposit boxes in the park. One time I saw a bunch of needles wrapped in a rubber band left on the pavement, last year. This is my closest park from home, and instead of just enjoying a nice walk, I am constantly looking for needles or garbage that the dog or I could step on. There is no kids play area, and no lights for nightime. People let their dogs off leach, so there should be a section fenced off for that, and there are signs saying to leach your dog, bit people take them off leash anyway. We need cops to drive around more often. I've had problems in the past with off leash dogs. Also, people smoke a lot of dope in this park. They also need new and more benches. There are just a few wooden benches. There also need to be more signs listing the rules. We need to start putting cameras up all over the city, and make people aware of it, so maybe people wouldn't do drugs right in the open in front of everyone, or pee or poop. I've seen it all,...
