I interviewed for work here at the WDD to work for the EDD as a 1402 Jr. Clerk. I didn't make the cut. It was my interview, and I know it. I overshared, as I do. This time, I am here fact and info seeking. Things have DEFINITELY changed since I utilized their services SERIOUSLY at the turn of this century. I realize now that my self-help independent style of job search is antiquated. You need a TEAM to help you find work! Recruiters, job sites, and general postings aren't enough. Even school sites that were once reliable and easily navigable haven't been since Covid-19 began. I think I have found the workshop and a contact appropriate for my needs. Transitioning from 15 yrs of office administrative management work (tech, legal, corp, and govt). Now after 15 years in entertainment, I am pivoting back to school and PT work in order to become a chiropractic doctor. This Fall 2023, it's gonna happen. Thanks to all of you! I can feel this is the breakthrough I needed.

Look, like millions of others trying to get a hold of a human being to discuss their EDD situations or looking for advice as to how they should proceed, has become excruciatingly frustrating and absolutely absurd that you can’t get through to someone via phone, email, or otherwise. How about hire some people to work at EDD, solving many issues with the whole unemployment disaster. The EDD is making folks wait in limbo, rather than adhering to the problem that faces the entire state of California. Instead of brainstorming in an effort to solve the states major financial crisis concerning jobless citizens, the state has effectively downplayed the importance of connecting unemployed taxpayers/workers to the states EDD program consultants. The EDD is where unemployed folks need clear and concise adversaries to guide them with correct forward procedures about their claims. It’s shameful that California is the fifth largest economy, yet have the worst run employment program, as far as accessible communicative interactions with the state run EDD, in the entire US. NYC has 10-12 times the amount of people we have, yet they have human beings answering phone calls and replying to emails with suitable answers to folks questions. It’s kind of a smack to the face for struggling people trying to get questions answered that hold great importance, but can’t ever get through to anyone via Phone or Email. It’s 2021! Get your act together and handle it accordingly so folks don’t start taking desperate measures, because the state wants to save a few dollars. The feds are backing the EDD, so I don’t see where the problem could be. Anyway, that’s my two cents, as I hope folks read this knowing I completely feel for others and absolutely relate to the severe frustration this state has made millions of people endure. I hope the state reads this as well, considers the severity of its failure to reassure Californians through communicative and responsive adherence from the only resources made available to them. Im hopeful the state proactively changes the way it previously engaged with people trying to harness some viable, solid, and concrete answers to important necessary questions concerning their claims, claim status, and every element involved throughout the whole EDD...

COMMIE-FORNIA STRIKES AGAIN!

THEY ARE NOT UNDERSTAFFED. That's a straight up lie, as evidenced by the SAME DAY PROCESSING REVIEWS HERE ON GOOGLE REVIEWS! No one is doing same day processing when they are understaffed and/or overwhelmed with work!

GOT IT?

THEY JUST WANT THE OPTION TO NOT TALK TO YOU ABOUT MONEY THEY CAN'T ACCOUNT FOR BECAUSE THAT WOULD FORCE THEM TO REVEAL THE SCAM THAT'S TARGETING YOU!

Don't believe me, call a California EDD office and ask for their address so you can go there in person and talk to someone about your EDD claim. They'll give you the address, and when pressed about speaking to someone in person, they'll confess that you have to use their onsite phone to reach someone.

Said another way, YOU HAVE TO GO TO A PHYSICAL LOCATION TO USE THEIR PHONE TO TALK TO SOMEONE!

That's not about helping YOU. That's about controlling their answerability to YOU!

During the pandemic, 100's of millions were STOLEN from taxpayers in the form of pandemic relief funds. Many people qualified for those funds, but never received a single check, and that's because thieves stepped in and vacuumed up Our money!

Then, the EDD never replaced those funds! As far as they are concerned, We lost those funds. This becomes even more tragic once you realize that EDD UNEMPLOYMENT CHECKS COME OUT OF THE FUNDING TOTALS THAT ARE USED TO CALCULATE YOUR RETIREMENT SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS!

For example, if you earned $250,000 over your lifetime, that amount calculates how much you can receive in SS retirement payments, less the amount ever received in unemployment over your lifetime, INCLUDING THE PANDEMIC RELIEF FUNDS THAT WERE STOLEN!

As far as the EDD is concerned, it was YOU that had YOUR money stolen! Not them applying an insecure dispersement strategy!

And, before YOU say, "that this is NOT by design", the EDD put this arms-length-we-don't-need-to-talk-to-you strategy in place...
