I didn't know after sitting down and relaxing on a bench only feet away from a nicely done fountain arrangement that featured what looked to be 'Frog and Toad' from the popular children's books of the same name.
Truthfully I didn't know I was at a park until reading it on Google when it asked if I wanted to review it.
I looked it up and realized oh yeah that place with the fountain across from the bench Under the Pyramid Tower was actually a park and not just a place with a fountain across from a bench.
I thought about it more I realized;
"Oh yes! Of course it was a park!"
I forgot it contained a large number of homeless vagrants sprawled across the concrete that I had to walk on and over to get to my bench and enjoy the sandwich I had waiting for me to bite into the moment I took seat. Almost without thinking I am able to do this when thinking about it and instead of it scaring me I'm feeling a little proud of my new ability and am going to pause to reach around and behind my head to pat myself of the back.
'Pat-pat'... (sigh of relief)
The picture of that day became clearer helping me to remember all the corners and crevices filled with street-urchains everywhere! This was just like all the other parks and proof of it was the immunity from loitering tickets they all were by the sign posted on both entrances granting them exactly that. FREEDOM.
And a swell place to eat my sandwich and get nostalgic looking at those two best of chums frog and toad.
The park is perfect for either or of these types of people :
If you find yourself needing to stop at the local Starbucks next door this park should do just fine as a place to consume whatever pile of fat they sold you.
If are a 'homeless-Urchin-of-the-street' you better get there early before all the good slabs of concrete are taken up.
The View looking up is what brought me to review this and why I give three stars to the joint instead of...
Read moreVisited this beautiful mini park at the base of the iconic Transamerica pyramid, while on a nearby escapade. With renovations completed in 2024, they revived the space and added art that blends in nicely with the majestic redwood trees.
It is a mixture of elements that provoke the senses with whimsical detail and just a nice place to stop by during an adventure into the interconnected areas of FiDi, North Beach, Chinatown and the Embarcadero. I saw some people enjoying dim sum at one of the benches, some taking photos, admiring the architecture, and playing table tennis. Looks like there are events sometimes and a few cool new interactions like art...
Read moreThis is such a hidden treasure in our city! I recently attended one of the concerts that they are now holding on Sundays and Thursdays. It was really lovely to be in such a wonderful, creative, beautiful space in nature and listen to music. There is a nice bar for those of you who drink. I also appreciate the security at every gate. Thank you for providing this for the neighborhood!
My only suggestion, if anybody in power is reading this, is to move the ping-pong table back by the bar. It was very obstructive while trying to listen to the beautiful music. A minor adjustment that would make a...
