SafeSplash Swim School - San Jose (Crane Court) — Attraction in San Jose

New review 10/17/25 My review here is more of a parting one, not that of a present customer. Initially we were disappointed with a few coaches and was not happy with how the coaches treated all the kids in general until we started learning with Coach Joe. With Joe, we've been at SS for years. He is simply the best! Now that he is leaving, we are parting with Safesplash since our kids can swim well. We had an open issue before leaving and after 2 weeks of calling safesplash and talking to multiple people, 3 people stand out as stars for us. Natalie and Chima listened to our concerns wholeheartedly and did their best to get us support to resolve our problem. Their actions helped us along the way to escalate our concern and I am thankful for that. Everyone else I spoke to brushed us off and said they would help but they never carried through.

Our situation was then taken over by Laurie, which not only took the time and thoughtfulness to help us but also transcended our expectations. She did everything in her power to help and we can't thank her enough. She is utmost kind, professional, and solution driven. Thank you Safesplash for having such a stellar member on your team.

Original review: Instructor Joe is absolutely phenomenal with our daughter Bella. She's taken classes elsewhere and has never really established a trusting relationship with her instructor, but here with Joe, she is excited to come to class and genuinely likes her instructor.

We very much appreciate Joe's attention and teaching style. He is engaged and keeps the students' attention well.

The pool is cold, way too cold for my 13 month old. They offer classes for tots and parents but the instructors lack experience with young children. Babies have a very short attention span and need more FUN than full on instruction. Kick, kick, kick for 30 minutes will get boring for toddler by minute 5 to 8.

During our swim class today my babies feet were blue 15 minutes in, lips were blue when class was over and chattering all over. I do not recommend this swim school for young toddlers. Not very safe when your child is freezing and screaming in discomfort in class.

Most babies are very sensitive to temperature changes. The ratio of skin surface area to body weight is higher than that of an adult, so babies are more sensitive to water and even room temperatures than you are. If the water feels cold to you, it is definitely too cold for your little one.

Cancelled my membership today.

Please educate staff on temperature for small children or simply do not offer the option of toddler and parent if the pool can be kept at a safe temp for...

This place has a very unreasonable withdrawal policy. There is a withdrawal option on the online portal. I used that and received a confirmation email, but was only told that I had to call them one month earlier to complete the withdrawal. Seriously, why the online portal is even there? I withdrew after taking one class for that month and expected to get a refund for the rest three of that month. But that is not possible. It is only possible to call before billing for a full refund. That policy was hardly noticeable. You have to read the policy WORD BY WORD before creating the account! OK. My bad, I didn't see that tiny table about refund. So, at least I may get 25% refund? But there was no way. They told me I called too late (about three weeks after I withdrew online). I thought I had withdrew and was waiting for them to process, OK?
