Restaurante Al Chile — Restaurant in San Juan

There’s no parking on the street had to park three blocks away after circling for 10 minutes. It was a beautiful night so we wanted to sit outside since there was a table available, unfortunately, all of the chairs were taken by the other tables so we were told we had to sit inside. I ordered a bottle of water … they were out of water. I then ordered a frozen margarita. Someone had ordered one at table next to us and it looked delicious and super frozen…. It took a long time to get the drinks … when my margarita arrived it was super watery and not at all like the one I had seen at the table next to us. I asked the waitress to please blend it up some more since the consistency was more like a slushie instead of a margarita. I also asked her to please not add anymore ice … she added ice any ways and when I asked her how will the drink still fit in the cup after all that ice she added … she said don’t worry about it we (the staff) will drink the rest back here. I asked her how is that right since now the tequila and flavoring in the drink has been diluted and I had already asked her to please not add ice. She said ok I will give you a cup with the left overs to which I agreed. A few moments later the waitress walked over to the table and told me she wanted to let me know she was canceling my drink order. The food was just ok. Great place for lunch if you work around Santurce. Their staff is trained to immediately assist you in finding you a place to seat and providing menus without making you wait outside. Great service and has a lot of employees. Everything seemed very clean. They have inside seating (the place is bigger than it looks) and also outside seating if you have a pet or just want to be out in the fresh, albeit hot, air. Their waiters were very helpful in providing food descriptions and making any changes to the order. Their Margaritas are good, though a bit weak. They have daily lunch specials and their regular menu prices are very reasonable. Food came out quickly and it was on a Friday during lunchtime! We ordered chicken fajitas, refried beans & chips, enchiladas and Alambre (steak/cheese) tacos and everyone was happy with their food. Didn’t try the desserts....

Busy on a Friday night. Would not take reservations for three. Wait was short. Service completely sucked. We interacted with three different wait staff. Owner came around later to pay attention and help out and was very nice but we never got menus from staff, had to call on them constantly. Drinks took forever (they were very good margaritas). Chips not so good. Large Guacamole was smallish. But good. Enchiladas verdes de pollo ok. Corn tortillas very good. Prices reasonable. Music a bit too loud. So, sort of a meh rating. Perfect for...
