Staff is unprofessional. I was able to get maybe two hours of sleep due to noise in a neighboring room. I complained, but front desk staff hung up on me and I don’t believe they ever attempted contact with the neighboring room. It was so bad, the person I was with got out of bed and attempted to sleep on the bathroom floor for the night. Another guest came down and overheard our exchange. He confirmed the he had heard the noise for the last two evenings. The front desk staff offered no resolution.
Feel free to read the following email sent to a manager this morning:
“ . . . [the front desk attendant] was wholly unprofessional. Prior to me going downstairs to complain, I called and he hung up on me. I called back but he didn't answer. Naturally, since I'm in the building, I went downstairs to discuss what was going on with him and ask why he hung up on me. He'll probably say that he had walked away at this time, but he had not because he and I passed each other when I got off the elevator at the bottom. I did not know that he was front desk staff at this time because he was wearing a college sweatshirt.
I got back in the elevator and went upstairs to see if maybe he was contacting the room next to me. He was not on the second floor. So I returned to the first floor and waited for him. I heard him coming around the corner when a member of the cleaning staff was trying to help me find someone. He told her something along the lines of he wasn't dealing with me today.
When he got in front of me, I tried to remain as calm and understanding as possible. Based on his behavior and the conversation I overheard, I believed he might escalate the situation.
At one point he told me that he had documented everything. I asked him to see the book to show proof that he had documented it. He would not. I looked over the counter and saw that he had not documented it. I asked him to document everything that had happened as far as the complaints went. He started typing and refused to write anything in the book. He told me that he could not actually write anything in the book until his shift was over.
He then began to type but I could not see what he was typing. Finally, another guest walked by and overheard the conversation. He confirmed that he had heard the same alarm continuously for the past two nights.
Because I had not seen any written documentation and because he rattled off what he typed so quickly and I could not verify whether it was correct or not, I asked for a print off of the documentation for myself. He said that he could not give it to me because my name was not on the account. I said that my card was what was on file. He said that my boyfriend would have to add me to the reservation. At some point my boyfriend came down and I asked him to add me to the reservation so that I could get a copy and your staff told me that he still could not give me a copy. I reminded him that he had just stated that my boyfriend was the only one who could receive a copy because it was his name on the reservation and asked your staff to give my boyfriend the copy, but he also refused to do that.
Please understand that I am not making this complaint arbitrarily. I got maybe two hours of sleep. At around 4 o'clock my boyfriend got out of bed to try and sleep in the bathroom. He actually succeeded for a couple of hours. That's how large of an issue this was. He was able to sleep on the bathroom floor and not in the room. However, I cannot sleep on the floor so I did not get any...
Read moreMy husband and I attempted to stay here, but have never received such poor treatment from a hotel employee. Particularly, the rude, immature adult by the name of Venus. I booked the hotel in my name and my husband did the check in. Her manager in tow, she proceeds to say she doesn't have to let him check in because the room was in my name, and she's only doing it because her manager was there. I proceeded to tell her at least 3 different times, she could put the room in his name, and because she was so rude and such a smart aleck felt the need to keep saying, she didn't have to. I'm not sure of the manager's name, but she proceeded to complete the check-in, all while Venus yelled and cursed and say "She'll just cancel the room." As I told the manager, I'm sorry she had to work with someone so rude and disgusting, and if there was any kind of training to send their employees through, she needed to be the first one to go back. She was so rude, she cursed in front of children and it took another adult to tell her to calm down and tell her she wasn't being appropriate and should never act like that in front of other customers. For perspective, we have 85 stays this year alone with Marriott, and this treatment shocked my husband and I because if you don't want to work or do your job, don't be there. I want to be very clear the manager was kind and professional and I wanted to ensure I let her know this, but no customer or other employee should be subjected to someone like that. We ended up cancelling this room and going to another Marriott, and the treatment there was leaps and bounds difference-from the check-in to the room quality. We were in the area for IVF treatment, so to be treated like this was not acceptable for everything we are already going through. I'm glad to know there are good people in the world, and sadly Venus has a lot do to become one of them. As I stated to her, we have southern hospitality here, and she needs to return to New York with...
