Our spahhhhhh day definitely left us floating in the clouds!
My boyfriend and I planned a weekend trip to Santa Barbara and found Float through a quick google search. Neither of us had treated ourselves in awhile, so we were really looking forward to getting away and relaxing.
We were we pleased from the moment we walked in the door and smelled the aromatherapy! The staff was so friendly and calm, and the facility was just beautiful. We actually were wishing it was our home because the architecture was so stunningly unique.
Our couples retreat began with a massage. We each got to pick a scented lotion (both chose lavendar and it was wonderful) and the therapists discussed our needs with us. My massage released every bit of tension and the therapist targeted exactly what I asked her to. I couldn't help but laugh when we were finished because my boyfriend looked like he had just awoken from hibernation! We both decided right then and there that we needed to incorporate massage into our regular lifestyle.
Next we both had a facial. I have been getting facials for years, but this definitely topped them all. My aesthetician was so knowledgeable~ she knew how to treat my skin after our recent climate change (moving from Seattle to Oahu). She was very softspoken and calm throughout the whole experience, and her suggestions for products were really helpful. My favorite part was the face, neck, shoulder, and arms massage :) I know my boyfriend enjoyed his facial too because he has super sensitive skin and came out looking refreshed.
Although our retreat had ended, I was still in heaven when I got to the changing room and realized there was a beautiful shower fully loaded with products! Everything was so clean and organized, and the vanity was stocked with everything I needed to do my hair and makeup.
Needless to say, we had a great experience at Float. We plan to return whenever we visit Santa Barbara, and highly recommend to anyone looking for a...
Read moreI booked a maternity massage after having a terrible scheduling error at another place in town. I was actually in Float's system, so that was already a better experience. Plus, I got to check in ahead of time online and fill out a preference form with things like lotion scents and the amount of talking during the massage I was interested in. The lounge was very nice, with a lit fireplace and some hot teas. There were pitchers of lemon/cucumber water in the halls, but not in the actual lounge, which felt a little strange. My actual massage was fantastic. Joanne was a miracle worker on my hips. I hoped for a bit more on my legs, but she said she felt uncomfortable since it was a maternity massage. In a previous pregnancy I've had leg massages and it was fine, but I'm not going to push my masseuse out of her comfort level. I do wish there was a foot stool in the room, though, because I'm short and pregnant! I got the coconut milk scalp massage add on and boy did it feel great. I think it's a better value with the 90 minute massages as opposed to the hour massages, though, because it doesn't add any time to your massage, it just eats up your massage time. I foolishly did not bring a brush/comb with me, but luckily Joanne was able to find me a comb to use so I didn't leave with a rats nest on my head. I'd bet in a pre-COVID world the combs were in the bathroom and you could just take one, but I didn't confirm. Bring a brush if you're getting the scalp massage! I'll definitely be back for another maternity massage and I'll try out a facial, too, because I had a great experience.
FLOAT: please put foot stools in the rooms so people can climb into the...
Read moreI have been going to Float Luxery Spa for years now. I get a facial from Heidi, every 3 months and she always knows my skin and guides me as it is constantly changing the older I get. I am always greeted with huge smiles from the super friendly staff and they are always so accommodating, whatever my needs may be. I am always impressed with how clean the restroom and locker facility is, and I love the fact that I can either lounge in their upstairs cozy space by the fire, or outside in the adorable and intimate private garden and patio area. My perfect day is when I arrive early, take a warm shower, throw my robe on and go lounge for awhile before my service. Spa water, snacks, you name it, they have it. I always invite friends to come with me and they become return customers as well. I even have them on my preferred vendor list for clients of mine looking for a fun venue for spa...
