River Street in Savannah, GA, is a delightful destination that beautifully blends history, charm, and scenic views along the Savannah River. I took my wife there for her birthday, and it was her first time experiencing this lovely city.
We began our day at the River House Seafood restaurant, which offered a fantastic dining experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with views of the river enhancing our meal. The seafood was fresh and flavorful; we particularly enjoyed the Lobster & Shrimp Roll which was a perfect Southern touch. The staff was attentive and friendly, making us feel special on this celebratory occasion.
After lunch, we strolled along the cobblestone streets, which added to the historical charm of the area. The local shops were a treasure trove of unique finds, from artisan crafts to specialty foods. Each store had its own character, and we enjoyed chatting with the shopkeepers who were eager to share the stories behind their goods.
We also visited the outdoor marketplace, where we found local produce, handmade goods, and delicious treats. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with the sounds of street performers and the scent of fresh food, made for a perfect afternoon.

Read moreWonderful place with an incredible chill atmosphere. Multiple street musicians that were excellent both days we were there. You'll get hungry because all the restaurants wafting onto the walkways. Probably 15 to 20 gift shops with an open marketplace at the East end where local craftsman display their products. A jazz club in the lower street entrance of the Marriott. The historic power plant had a live band playing somewhere inside. We spent 2 days walking there and the historic area a block up from River Street. Extremely friendly people, great restaurants, excellent bar and club scene. Definitely worth visiting. I have traveled around the world 3 times with the military and 4 times as a civil. Spent a lot of time in Asia and Savanah is one of the most beautiful places I have been. I...
