What an awful gallery. I walked into the gallery and within minutes I was pressured to reveal my preferred artist and price range by a tall blond woman. I said I was interested in finding something that appealed to me…and I was hoping to look around. That wasn’t the answer they wanted to hear and it was clear I was not welcome there.
The response I expect from the gallery is going to be one of these:
“The gallery is here to help collectors and novices all over the world collect art in every price range imaginable.”
Then you are taking the wrong approach. Read your reviews.
“we welcome all art collectors both young and old, novices or museum buyers and we treat them all like family”
Many don’t feel welcome. Please consider some introspection. Please see your reviews. If you treat family like that perhaps that is why your glass door ratings are just over 1.
“We set a high standard for ourselves, so we are disappointed to hear that your experience with us was not a positive one”
If you set a high standard for yourselves you are not meeting that standard. Please read the reviews - if you are disappointed then stop the pretentious BS.
I have been to galleries all over the world and have never experienced this. In speaking with the other galleries in Scottsdale they indicated this was nothing new or different for American Fine Art. Your reputation precedes you! Be proud of your pretentiousness.
I did find a lovely purchase at an another gallery to add to my collection today so the trip to Scottsdale was...
Read moreI think like many visitors, I walked into American Fine Art out of pure curiosity as a tourist wandering around Old Town Scottsdale. I was stunned to see such an incredible collection of works by some of the world's most famous and iconic artists; from Picasso and Dali to Warhol, Wyeth and Rockwell, the range and scope of the collection still blows my mind. As impressive as their collection is, their team is equally, if not more impressive. Jeff Dippold has the knowledge you'd expect from a museum curator, paired with a clear passion for what he does and sharing that with others; he is second to none and I've visited many galleries. As I wandered through the gallery, I listened to him (ok, eavesdropped) speaking to other visitors, including a family with young children and he held the attention of the kids with the interesting background & stories about one of the artists. The entire experience at this gallery was one of the highlight's of an already amazing trip. Whether you're an art novice, enthusiast or collector, this is a must see destination when you're in the area. Thank you Jeff and Phil and I look forward to...
Read moreAwesome gallery full of awesome art. Make an appointment and be ready to be impressed.
Works ranging from modern art to contemporary art with an especially good collection of pop art.
Artists including Warhol, Dali, Banksy, LeRoy Neiman, Murikami, Cornbread the Legend, etc.
It was like being in a miniature museum of a good half dozen of my favorite artists.
My friend and I had a particularly delightful conversation with the proprietor regarding LeRoy Neiman and his Frank Sinatra (The Voice) piece, which the gallery had displayed, along with several other of his pieces. My dad had given a print of that piece as a gift to a good friend of his and kept several other Neiman prints for himself and it sparked a memory of mine.
I also had a question regarding Cornbread the Legend and was pleased to remember him after the proprietor shared Cornbread's story with the fauna of the Bronx Zoo.
Absolutely lovely experience and would recommend American Fine Art, Inc to any lover...
