I am an incredibly sentimental person who prioritizes the importance of finding local artists and supporting them directly wherever I go. This was one of the only shops I wanted to go to in all of Scottsdale for this reason. I'm from Canada and I was looking for a shop that focuses on local art and artisans. I found "Native Art Market" through a quick Google search. Upon arrival, I learned from the passionate owner (shout-out to Heather) about how this is the first gallery that is 100% Native owned in all of Scottsdale. The pieces are bought from artists directly and they are displayed with the utmost intention. Nothing is just for show here, more often than not these pieces are one of a kind. The atmosphere is something that cannot easily be reproduced and it sure has the most bountiful displays. I was in awe of the detailed interior that showcases the many artists, not just from the art that's displayed, but as well the floor itself contains a memory from when this gallery had first opened. You can feel the joy emanating from the space. I've been to handmade artisan markets in my local area of Calgary Alberta, but this is the most artist focused space that I've ever had the delight of walking into. I bought many gifts to bring back to my friends. I wanted to buy the whole store. Every item is something that I would be proud to have in my home and in the hands of those I love. It speaks volumes to the importance of doing your research and making sure that you are buying pieces from creators directly. Mass created works of art cannot stand up so strongly to the curated collection that you will find in the Native Arts Market. There is such a bountiful collection of pieces that spoke to my heart. If I was local, I'd visit often to see the new artists and embrace my favorite local artists. I have found much joy in my short visit. I also learned that this is frequently a spot for local musicians to showcase their talents. I would love to come here and listen to music surrounded by such a heartfelt environment. It was incredibly life-changing. I will be back to visit if I am in the area and I know this store will continue to flourish because supporting local is something that people are and should be passionate about. You know you're in a magnificent space when the owner is sitting behind the counter chatting with you. Everyone is incredibly knowledgeable. I felt comfortable asking questions and getting curious about these...

Hidden Gem in Scottsdale – A Must-Visit for Art Lovers

If you’re looking for a truly unique shopping experience in Scottsdale, the Native Art Market is a hidden gem that captures the essence of Native American culture and artistry. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the stunning array of handmade jewelry, housewares, and artwork that lined the shelves. This isn’t just a store—it’s a celebration of Native American craftsmanship, with a special focus on artisans from Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, and Colorado.

One of the highlights of my visit was meeting Heather, a passionate and knowledgeable sales associate. She took the time to share the fascinating history of the Navajo Nation and offered in-depth stories behind the pieces in the store. Her pride in her culture and her work was evident as she guided me through the collection, making each item feel even more special. I learned so much about the Navajo tradition, the significance of turquoise, and the artisans who create these breathtaking pieces.

I left with two pairs of turquoise earrings and a beautiful bracelet, each accompanied by a thoughtful card detailing the artist’s name, the location of the mine where the stone was sourced, and a bit about the artisan behind the creation. This personal touch added so much meaning to my purchases, allowing me to feel a deep connection to the piece I was bringing home.

My friend also found some lovely household items that made for her new home, and we both agreed that the quality and authenticity of the products here are unparalleled. The Native Art Market isn’t just about shopping—it’s about learning, appreciating, and supporting Native American artists who are true entrepreneurs, sharing their culture with pride.

Whether you’re strolling through Old Town Scottsdale or seeking a special gift, this market is a must-see. I can’t wait to return next time...

The first Native-owned and operated store in Old Town Scottsdale! I implore you to spend your time and money here first before going to other nearby stores, even if they sell copycats. The products in this store are handmade by indigenous people in the Arizona community. You will see the artists' picture and read some of their stories throughout the store. Profits are directly deposited to the artist. On the day that I visited, there were two different local artists tabling as well as a performer dancing/singing live. The store has only been open for two years, but they have recently won Business of the Year award and rightfully so! Products are of quality and the people are the warmest that I met during my time in Arizona (which is saying a lot since most people here are friendly). I drove about 30 minutes just to shop at this one store, and it was totally worth it for everything that this shop is about: community, culture, creative expression, empowerment, love. Attached pictures are the beautiful pieces that I happily and proudly walked away with. Thank you for opening this gem of a business and I wish you continued...

Excellent Native art market where you get to purchase DIRECTLY from the over 200 represented artists! Also on some days you can catch performances from musicians like Tygel Pinto, Cody Blackbird, and Jonah Littlesunday. For *some* unknown reason 🙄 this is the first Native-owned art market in Old Town Scottsdale (Vaṣai S-vaṣonĭ in O'odham). That's right! All those other Native art stores you pass on the way in are just exploiting... 🐸🍵
