Visited in November 2016. Would have given a higher score were it not for certain members of staff and clientele. Scottsdale was part of our 2500 mile trip across California, Arizona and Nevada. My Mum and I decided to see some of the place, as we were only there for one night. We first went to the Old Town Tavern (Would Recommend), and one of the waiting staff recommended the Rusty Spur. The atmosphere was lively enough. Unfortunately, one of the patrons (Who I can only assume was a local, and appeared to be a real bruiser), decided to throw his weight around and start pushing me around (Physically) and was spoiling for a fight. I backed off as quickly as I could, my Mum and I both drank our beers and left. This was our very first visit to the USA, and thankfully the rest of the citizens we encountered along the way were very warm and welcoming. If this chap had been the very first US citizen that we encountered, we would not have been...
Read moreA must-see place if you come to Scottsdale. It takes you back to old wild West. As soon as you open that saloon door you step into 19th century. Its like you went back in time to 1800s. Went there in the afternoon, no crowd, found a table and felt like I was in a saloon that was actually built 150 years ago. A great place for everyone who wants to experience wild west saloon atmosphere. There was even a guy dressed as a cowboy drinking his whiskey and starring at me like he wanted a fight. It was probably a part of a show, but it gave me an idea how it looked like in the wild west. A great place if you like history. Not sure about loud music at night, some people like it. Another time I was there a bunch of motorcycles was parked in front of the saloon with bikers inside. That completely ruined my experience, so I didn`t go inside at all.. I hope that bikers are not...
Read moreIt's TINY. I've often wondered if it's among the smallest bars in the state or even country. You'll have to wade through a crowd of people on weekend evenings, some dancing, to get to the bar, which has no draft beer. Really. Unless you're a regular, service won't be particularly friendly, but drinks are strong and cheap. The people watching and the live music is why you're here anyway.
The Friday & Saturday night band, Psychobilly Rodeo Band, is unlike anything you've ever heard before. You'll be jamming out to "All Summer Long" or "American Pie," and suddenly you'll hear, "Tip the f%$king band!" or "Show us your t*tties!" It's truly a blast, and you'll witness people from 21 to 80 dancing and singing, locals, horrified foreign tourists, and bewildered businessmen alike.
Trust me, it's worth at the very least one drink. By the way, they're serious -...
