Great Products, Bad Service...
Early November - I originally ordered a hat too large and needed to return it for a smaller size. They informed me that I would have to pay for the shipping cost back to them ($34) which I didn't mind and understood why I had to pay it. I waited a couple weeks with no confirmation of the new hat being sent out so I called to see what the update was.
12/17/20 - They said they found the hat but didn't know what to do with it so it sat there... If they opened the box, the original invoice was there and instructions were to send back the same hat in a smaller size. Following that, the employee told me that I would be responsible for shipping cost to send the smaller replacement hat back out to me. If I added the original shipping cost and what I spent to send it back it would've cost the same as 2 hats from this business so I decided to get a refund for the original order and just chalk it up as a loss. They informed me that the refund would be issued.
12/28/20 - ALMOST 2 WEEKS LATER NO REFUND! Sent them an inquiry via email to see what the update was of the refund...NO RESPONSE.
1/4/21 - Called a week later to see what the update was on the refund. I guess they "forgot" and said I should get the refund by tomorrow.
They reason why I am writing this poor review is because at the end of the call when I asked how much I was going to be refunded it was only for the original amount of the hat, and not the original shipping cost which I think is horrible customer service and bad on the business. When I asked why this was the policy because I disagreed and said it was dumb the employee goes "Well, that's the way it is." Great customer service right?
So I ended up paying in total over $50 in shipping (original cost and what I I spent to send it back) didn't end up with a hat, and had to wait over a month with 3 attempts to get answers on the refund. Read moreI hate to write a bad review but I had a very poor experience with this company unfortunately. I ordered a hat 2 weeks in advance of a family members birthday and was told that I would most likely receive it the Friday before or latest the Monday before the birthday that lands on Wednesday. I even offered to pay extra to expedite the process and shipping but was told that it was not necessary. After being reassured that the hat would arrive on time, I was told on the Friday before the birthday that it was "delayed" and that the latest I would have it was that Monday or Tuesday. I followed up that call on Monday and AZ-Tex told me it was going out that day and I would receive it the day of the birthday by the end of the day. The company even gave me the tracking number they purchased that day. It is now Tuesday and the Tracking of the package states that the hat will arrive on Thursday by the end of the day. A FULL day AFTER the birthday. When I called UPS to see what the problem was, UPS told me that AZ-Tex did not get the package to them until Tuesday afternoon and that there is no way to speed the delivery up. I ordered a hat from here, a Christmas gift for my father. After a few weeks it still hadn't arrived, so I visited the store to inquire about it (when I ordered, I didn't realize how close I live to the physical store).
I was told by the woman tending the store that the manager or owner or PIC would get in touch with me the next day, as this was a Sunday.
I never received a phone call.
I reached out again not long after, via phone, and was told something similar: someone outranking whomever I was speaking with would have to look into the situation and get back to me.
I never received a response. I never received my father's hat.
I effectively made a donation to AZ Tex Hat Co., as after this I was distracted by other matters and gave up.
Presumably all the glowing reviews are from individuals who visited the store in person, as their experience stands in stark contrast to my own.
I'm supremely disappointed not so much in failing to receive the hat, as any number of things beyond AZ Tex's control could happen in the course of shipping. I'm leaving this scathing review because of their casual disregard for one of their orders being unfulfilled.
Maybe my hat wasn't expensive enough for them to value...
