We came to Seaside Heights for vacation & Iām a huge fan of the show so of course, I wanted to tour the house & also get some shirts made because Iām a fangirl but also I consider myself a t-shirt aficionado. I love collecting them. So, we were just taking pictures on the outside of the JS house & an employee asked if we were interested in a tour so we said yes. The tour was great, the guide pointed everything out, was very polite & we didnāt feel rushed.
We then went into the t-shirt shop & got a bunch of t-shirts (I planned this trip with a special fund just for the Shore Store, sue me). They were helpful in deciding what we wanted & they were quick & polite, also. We had gone in a few times during the week. They were the only shop I could find close by (within walking distance) that had a variety of sized gauges for my ears & also I was cold one night so I needed new sweatpants.
They also have the least expensive souvenir beach towels on the boardwalk that I saw, which I usually get but I blew too much money on vacation already so thatās my bad :(
What Iām impressed about the most is that Danny, the owner, was in there all the times we stopped in. Also, the employees recognized us & I think thatās very nice. They must see a bunch of different faces every day so thatās great attention to detail.
This was my first time at the Jersey Shore & weāre already planning on coming back. I think Iām going to go in the Shore Store one more time before I leave to have a shirt made that says, "I fell in love with the Jersey Shore". 10/10...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSeaside doesn't even look the same as it used to after hurricane Sandy hit. Boardwalk's a bit smaller and it's not as trashy or is touristy as it was years ago. The MTV hype died down. Will Major never rebuilt funtown Pier. So once you pass the Sawmill on the seaside Park side of the boardwalk, there's nothing really there. The north side towards Casino doesn't have a lot either. A bunch of t-shirt shops and head shops. Not too many rides for adults. The arcades are smaller and they are almost all the same inside. They might even be sourced by the same arcade suppliers because all of the prizes and the games are the same throughout each arcade. No big ticket prizes to draw people in and the classic boardwalk wheels of chance are gone unless you go see the ones that let you play for candy. You can't even see the ocean anymore due to the dunes. And you can't walk on the beach at night anymore because it's patrolled by police. Definitely a different vibe. Not as wild as it used to be. It was 4th of July and we stayed till 1:00 a.m. on the boardwalk. We didn't see any craziness other than some 16-year-olds getting drunk and riding the Hydrus. The wild part is they threw down the White Claw can that they were drinking, right in front of the ride attendant and the ride attendant still let them on. That's about the wildest...
