Just a heads up for individuals who have not been here before.
The prizes are very exciting and enticing, probably one of the coolest places to get prizes when it comes to arcades. That being said, let's get to the issues.
At the door you will see a poster that says you can recieve a $5 credit if you give them a 5 star review, I'd suggest waiting until after you enjoy the arcade to write a review in case you're lucky enough to have a better than average experience.
This location does not have staff, so be warned, do not play the machines that would require an attendant to retrieve your prize in the event of a win.
When you purchase credits, the exchange rate can be confusing. As of the date of this review, the games are averagly about $2 per play.
I will say this though, the claw machines are fair, which is unusual in america, so that was refreshing.
The cut 2 win machine stops about 4 inches before getting to the string, so currently this game is unwinnable until next time staff can fix the issue.
The "play till you win" claw machines that have it posted 3 times saying to can play until a prize is dispensed is not operating as it should. After the first loss, the game ends. This is troubling because usually, the machine has a sensor in the chute that detects if an item passes by it so it can reset if no prize has won. The fact that it does not do this currently means that the machine has been tampered with.
Pay very close attention when using your card to begin a game, that way when the game ends up being out of order, you only lose out on one play instead of finding out 3 swipes later.
After realizing many of the machines were not working properly, I was very cautious on which games I even tried.
Me personally, this is what I would do if I knew all this before coming here: find the claw machines that have your favorite critters, and play those. I avoided the ones that dispensed tickets, as there were no prizes I wanted. There's a cool claw machine that grabs plastic eggs with little quarter machine prizes in it. It seems like it can grab 2 at a time if you're lucky. The machine says some eggs may contain a special coin, that you can use to collect one of the larger prizes. I was not lucky enough to see of this function was operating correctly though.
Tl;dr. Only play the claw machines, and you'll...
Read moreI will never go back here. There are two main arcades in Seaside. This is located in a strip mall to the north of the main town area. There were no staff present in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday. Because there aren't any prizes, this may seem like a non-issue. All of the arcade games, including those from the mid-90's cost at least $1.00. While there is a good selection of video games, including a couple of claw games, they are significantly overpriced. Some of the games had issues, though some were user error (my son was overstimulated). I did have an issue with one game that did not work or register the money I put in (8 coins). Because of lack of staff, I contacted the company and am still waiting a response (it's been 12-days and I've received one email saying they will look into it). At this point, my mindset is "why bother, I'm not going back anyway." All in all, we spent 30 minutes here and almost 2-hours at the arcade in the...
Read moreTHIS IS STRAIGHT UP THEFT -- DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. You have to buy the card up front $40. One of the games needed a basic update & wouldn't work. Another of the games ate the points twice -- but wouldn't work. One of the games worked & said we won tickets, but guess what -- no tickets & no way to redeem tickets for prizes anyway. And so on & so on. We knocked on the doors in the back -- no one was there. There is no staff here. And guess what -- there's no phone number anywhere including online in order to call someone. This is just a front to steal money & a scam. There's no way to get your money back. It would be a good place for the homeless to catch a rest on a bench & get in out of the weather. It is not good for anything other than that & stealing your money. UPDATE: We sent 2 messages the same day via the contact page which stated they would respond in 48 hours. No...
