2023 update: No sooner had we rolled into town, famished and ravenous, than we found ourselves on a digital quest for a culinary experience that would tantalize our jaded tastebuds. My heart craved the golden, crispy allure of fish and chips, and my partner, ever the intuitive navigator, discovered a promising haven named Grizzly Tuna. The mere minutes between us and this potentially life-changing meal were nothing more than a minor inconvenience.
Pulling up, we noticed a humble procession of cars lined up, signaling the popularity of the place. There was a moment of hesitation, a flicker of doubt fueled by the unusual prospect of fried tuna, but the glowing reviews of fellow food enthusiasts convinced us to stake our claim in line. The wait of twenty minutes seemed but a small sacrifice to make at the altar of exceptional gastronomy.
The staff, embodying the very essence of warm hospitality, guided us through their delightfully straightforward menu. Our order? Two generously portioned fish and chips and a couple of enticing tacos.
Keen not to let the symphony of flavors cool down, we retreated to a nearby parking lot, setting up our camera for our loyal audience. First up was the fish taco. It was a flavor bomb, the unexpected melding of feta cheese, pico de gallo, and crisp cabbage creating a symphony on the tongue. The only thing I yearned for was a tad more sauce to elevate the overall palate, but it was undeniably delectable.
The star of the show, however, was yet to come. Five pieces of golden, fried bliss that shattered into a million flavors with every bite. The tuna, a far cry from its canned brethren, was a revelation. The question that haunted me: How had I driven past this culinary treasure trove so often without stopping? I reached for the Crystal hot sauce tucked away for moments like this, and the addition took the fish soaring to new culinary heights. The only absentee in this gastronomic party was the zing of lemon.
The fries? Pure perfection, fried to a tantalizing crisp, and kissed with just the right sprinkle of salt. I found myself in a euphoric state of fried-food nirvana, joyously documenting my seaside feast for posterity.
Grizzly Tuna has henceforth claimed its place as my seaside culinary lighthouse, guiding my gastronomic adventures. So impressed were we, that another visit has already been penciled into our itinerary before we depart. Adventure awaits, but first, another round of fish and...
Read moreI really enjoyed this place. It came up on my google search. I was talking with my husband about it and some locals overheard our conversation and said that it was good and we should try it out. Fish and chips is all they sell (with the exception of fish tacos they recently started). We got the large size and shared it for $11.00. 5 fair size pieces and loads of fries. The tuna was a nice surprise. It was fresh, hot, and crunchy. The fries were also fresh, salty, and crispy. The staff was nice and helpful. It came with ketchup and tarter sauce. The tarter was a bit flavorless to me (broken tastebuds to certain flavors). It didn’t come with lemon wedges, but I asked and they asked how many I wanted. I should have asked for some malt vinegar too... but didn’t think about it. The lemon was the home run for me. There were three picnic tables spread out in the open with no coverings/umbrellas. Otherwise, it was a quick drive through like a coffee station. But, overall, food was good, portions were perfect, and the...
Read moreWe try to stop by every time we’re in town visiting because I love their fish and chips. I am not kidding when I say it’s the best fish and chips I’ve ever had from anywhere! And they are so decently priced compared to other places. The breading is so crispy and crunchy and cooked to perfection. The fries are also crispy and delicious. My husband tried their fish tacos this time and he said it’s the best fish tacos he’s ever had. He messaged his friend right away because fish tacos is one of his friend’s favorite meals. Everything is always so fresh, cooked to order and comes out piping hot! The customer service is also great! They are so nice and friendly and always ask if they can give our pups treats when we stop by. It’s a small little stand off the side of the street and there is 2 small table with seats out front. We usually just eat in the car or take it back to our hotel to eat. I look forward to coming here whenever we are in...
