Schwietert's Cones & Candy Seaside — Attraction in Seaside

I am so absolutely appalled at the customer service here. I have NEVER had anyone treat me the way I was treated here. Im gonna start out by saying I work in customer service myself as a barista for 5 years, and I get it. Sometimes it sucks to wait on people. Sometimes your tired and wanna go home. But EVERY SINGLE TIME I'm at work and am not feeling like being there, and someone comes in and has a smile on there face and greet me with such a positive attitude, it makes me take a step back and realize I should treat them how I would love to be treated. It is Tuesday October 21st and I walked into this shop so excited and having such a great time looking at all the great things you have to offer. Get to the chocolate/truffle display and see a girl, she rolls her eyes and mouths something under her breathe. She comes over I greet her so politely and she is the rudest person I've ever dealt with. She starts walking away after I order 6 of your liquor chocolates. And I asked if I could get a couple truffles (wondering why she would just walk away in the middle of an order) and she nods her head a lets out a sigh. My friend didn't even get anything because of how she was acting. The cashier was so sweet and friendly I was very happy. There was a woman at the door holding it open with keys in the door literally looking like she hates her life and I ruined it by purchasing items from your shop. I'm sure this won't get back to the owner but I really hope it does. What a great shop you have and what HORRIBLE service. Bottom line they shouldn't be working in...

Well I only got mostly chocolate dipped things here and the pecan log which was great if you like pecans/nuts & nougat which was probably the best thing i liked of the things I purchased. The chocolate dipped twinkies are average, quality of the chocolate is average just like all the other chocolate dipped things like the double oreos stacked and dipped in chocolate and drizzled with white chocolate. They are exactly as you would expect them to be. The twinkie ones had like maybe a little crunch to it (not the good crunch maybe( but it seemed to have been kind of dried out, that is the coating around them but still edible. They have assortments of fudge which is kewl and a case full of chocolate but I didn't get any. It is a typical small town cute candy shop with cute little sweets. It is one we usually stop by before leaving and maybe qe will try other places next time. My sister raves about the sea foam which is chocolate covered and described as like that old candy crunchie with a honeycomb toffee sugar thats hardened but it has sort of a sweet and slight saltiness. This is how my sister described it.

Stop by and check it for yourself its got assorted chocolates and popcorn flavors are only 3 kinds (caramel, cheddar and I think kettlecorn). Also assorted candied apples with some interesting flavors but I didn't get any because I just like plain old apples. The good and not so good. I will preface this with me stating my taste buds are a bit advanced and biased. If you love sugar/rich candy this is absolutely your place. Sugar can tend to be over used in many candies but to me there is a balance. While the truffles were better than big name brand "S" that we see heavily at holiday time at the grocery store, to me that big name is mediocre at best. The seafoam and fudge was also just ok. The bulk candy was insanely over priced. I have come to a stage in life that I will not eat it if it's not worth forever on my hips, so yes I threw away the chocolate and fudge I got for me. I spent $70 and while the employees were patient and kind I will not return. I do not see the value spent worth the quality. I'd rather go to the other candy store. The other candy store has and will continue to a favorite so far. I'm not from Seaside but return annually for four years a week or more at a time. Again it is ok candy and for many it may be "the best". To me though it's just...
