I used to like Amazon a lot. I would spend the majority of my shopping dollars on Amazon. But that all changed, and I think they made a change in their customer service approach. They have always 100% of the time helped me resolve my issues. But a recent example of something they helped me resolve many time in the past, leads me to believe they will no longer take care of customers the way they once did.
Multiple Amazon employees assured me I would get a full refund for a dangerous product I purchased on the Amazon platform, even though it was past the seller's return window and passed the sellers quality assurance testing. It was a replacement head for my electric razor. When I first contacted Amazon, I was told not to worry and I will be fully compensated, but I should follow a certain process. I did what I was told and the seller offered me a 60% refund and I could keep the dangerous product. Based on Amazon's guidance, I rejected that offer, and I continued to follow the process amazon asked me to follow. I even spoke to a supervisor or manager who told me that Amazon would get the 60% that was offered and Amazon would give me the additional 40%. Then i got the run around. I called 9 or 10 times on this topic, spending hours to get it resolved, but at the end, Amazon left me on my own to work with the seller. I didnt get any money back, and I still have this useless and dangerous product because I followed the instructions from Amazon when they promised me full compensation, much the way they have done many times in the past. Except this time Amazon did not deliver. I would have taken the 60% that was originally offered by the seller if Amazon didnt tell me I would get a...
Read moreI called to cancel my prime membership because I had not used it much this year. Customer service person was friendly and seemed to fix what I needed. I should have gotten a refund of just over $50.00. I was satisfied with that. One month later, I got a bill from synchrony bank for the amount of the refund I was supposed to get. I called Amazon customer service again. this time the agent was clueless, it was awful, their lack of knowledge was evident. This person told me it was ok and the bill from Synchrony Bank would go away and I will get my refund. I am not holding my breath on this. I really doubt that this will go well for me. Buyer beware. Amazon, Big & out of control, no idea how or desire to fix a customer's problem. Watch out for your self with them. I will go Wal-Mart from now on.
Update: I finally got my money back from Amazon. They refunded my entire prime fee for the year. I am thankful for that! My budget is very limited, like most people. If you can afford the fee and use Prime shipping a lot it is worth it. Always remember to...
Read moreI was staying at the hotel across the street and they had a rabbit stuck on their terrace. It must’ve jumped down there but the jump back up was a 4-5 feet high ledge, surrounded by a 3 story drop, and building on the other sides. I watched for an hour after first noticing the animal that the rabbit went around the perimeter looking to find a way out. Periodically it would try jumping up to the ledge where must’ve come from and only make it halfway up, clearly stuck and not wanting to be there. I was able to take video of this. So I walked over to notify security and showed them the video and where it was. They couldn’t care less. Sure enough the poor wild animals carcass could be seen the next day and they hadn’t done anything about it. I was hoping this mega-company could be capable of a brief moment of humanity, at least meeting several employees face to face. Suffice to say, nope, they proved to be just as...
