I can't recommend MBodied enough. I love having it as a part of my weekly routine and in just 2+months I've been training with Melanie, I'm already seeing and feeling awesome progress!
I've had back pain for years but in the previous 6 months it was getting really bad. I recently started a demanding job and have two kids under 5 - so it's been hard to find the time or energy to get the the gym. Plus, I wasn't having much success trying to manage it on my own, or with the assistance of light physical therapy.
I feel so well taken care of and have a training plan that is well considered to meet my needs and goals, and that has evolved with me as I've progressed through milestones and have new abilities. I came in feeling like I needed to get back on track, and that happened quicker than I had imagined. Now I'm looking forward to actually being able to do things that I didn't think were possible for me (50lb deadlifts! even pull ups someday?!). My back pain isn't all the way gone, but man - it is sooo much better. For the first time in years, YEARS, I'm super optimistic that it might completely dissipate.
Melanie has been truly awesome. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the human body and has many tricks for improving form, gradually working you towards bigger and bigger goals, or working out that click in your shoulder. She knows how to motivate and push you, and is so much fun to work with.
I'm in semi-private classes (2-3 people total so far) and also enjoy the aspect of getting to know new people and cheer each other on. The studio is well equipped and has a friendly/casual vibe - relaxing place to concentrate and work on yourself. The team is flexible to work with your schedule, which is super nice.

Melanie is positive, knowledgeable, funny, approachable, great at giving cues and helping you understand movements, and skilled at creating a welcoming and energetic environment. I joined MBodied because I'm a lifelong runner but in my 30s just running was not cutting it any more, and I wanted to learn how to "gym" and develop a more well-rounded approach to my fitness. I gained those things and so much more - confidence in my body and what it can do, confidence and motivation in my ability to continue my gym journey on my own, and connection to a really special community. I also badly sprained my ankle about halfway through my time at MBodied and couldn't run for months. I am so grateful that I already had personal training in place, so I was able to return to the gym pretty quickly and have support to safely resume exercise while I recovered. I injured my back at F45 across the street (I was lifting completely wrong and hurting myself). I’m so glad MBodied was there to provide a slower, more rehabilitation focused alternative that’s helped me better understand my body, learn to lift properly, and work through my injury.
I worked primarily with Melissa (the owner) and Hrishikesh. Melissa is great about proactively asking you where you feel an exercise to pinpoint any muscle weakness/imbalance. She brings great energy and is always taking feedback from her clients. Hrishikesh is great about tracking your weight progression, giving cues for proper form, and providing excellent modifications to adjust the workout for how your body feels that day. He’s also very encouraging and passionate about sharing the latest research in fitness.
