Been twice as an out of town visitor and have unfortunately struck out both times going. I was really hoping to find a store to frequent on trips out here, especially with all the reviews from the locals but it wasn’t quite the case. First time was a bit worse than the second but if you aren’t familiar with how these stores work out here, they are much different than CA, OR, AZ, MA, and PA (all states I’ve visited cards shops at) First time I went in I must have asked the wrong question, that being “what sets featured vampires and things of the like” so that I could focus on those (as the new and learning player I am) and was immediately meant with a scoff (didn’t catch the employees name) and said “I can sit here and tell you or you can go online and do your research to find what you need the most, there are so many sets” steamrolling the other employee who was helping me first. The whole exchange was completely off putting and I ended up just buying some random set packs and leaving. Second time I go, to avoid the embarrassment of being told about the website again, I did go to the website and check their inventory and unfortunately they didn’t have what I needed so I brought my cards with me on my trip and was hoping to do some trading. Turns out, there is a buylist and they don’t do OTC trades and there are no singles boxes to go through.

I appreciate the staff (minus the one individual from the first visit) for the help that they did offer but when it comes to trading or dealing, there is none. Like I said, no OTC trades, no boxes to look through (for various reasons due to putting cards back incorrectly to people stealing), and it kinda feels like a buy something or leave place unless they know you.

It is by no means a terrible store or some place I’m saying to avoid, it just requires quite a bit of side work if you’re interested in dealing with MTG singles or trading and it’s not worth it as an outside visitor looking to socialize and...

Nick has created a really wonderful space and community here. Phoenix comics and games is inclusive, friendly, and safe for all magic players 🏳️‍🌈. There are drafts at the store every Tuesday and Friday. There's a draft coming up that's chaos, which sounds really cool but I won't be in town for it. Which is disappointing. Tonight we did a draft of Phyrexia: All Will Be One. Today the size of the draft was a bit smaller than regular (they told me). Despite the more modest size of the crowd, the quality of play was high. It was that much sought after balance of competitiveness and camaraderie. We shared information and anecdotes as we were making our decks, made and during play. A couple of us hadn't drafted in years while others were Tuesday draft regulars. Those of us just coming back to the format were welcomed with open arms. The okay was solid and satisfying. Nick went out of his way to provide us with a good time a well-organized event and a welcoming atmosphere. Of all the drafts that I've played since I started playing magic again, this was the best.

If you like a high level of play, and a diverse and colorful crowd, and this...

Overall great store for MTG players, tabletop gamers and comics fans.

Exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable staff. Simply put- They just get it, and they just do things right. Every one of the dozens of times I have purchased something, usually singles, it has been a fantastic experience among multiple different staff members. Thanks yall!

Wednesday night commander usually fills the place. You can easily go solo and find a game within minutes if you do things appropriately. Just sit and wait or ask around.

Ofcorse it's downtown Seattle and prices are a bit higher, but they also have some great deals. If the prices and prize support were a bit better, I would give them 5 stars, even 6 stars if I could. But again I don't fault them for it. Retail rent is expensive in Seattle, and its not the most lucrative type of business. Don't get me wrong the prices are fair, just a lil bit higher than most shops I go to outside of the city.

I would love to see the pauper and modern event turn out increase a bit. I wish I could make it more often myself. Players, let's...

One of the nicest comic shops around. The shelves (both single issues and collections) are filled with a large variety of comics from multiple publishers—not just the big two. I especially appreciated the specialty shelves for LGBTQ+ comic creators and spotlighting local creators. Their game selection is great, and their staff was super friendly and helpful on the phone and in person to make sure I got the game I was looking for. I didn’t get a chance to sit and play, but their gaming area looked super inviting and a group of people playing in the store were kind enough to let me watch their game for a moment as I browsed around the store. I highly recommend this place!

Our favorite neighborhood games and comics store. We go here often and take our dog with us. This is a place where we feel like we belong. The people who work here are awesome and authentic. It’s fun to have a chat with them and learn. We support the store and order games or expansions they may not have yet through them and share love for gaming. Recommend sharing some moments in this place to find some joy for yourself through gaming, art, and nerdism.
