So Iāve got a story about the absolute most shady dangerous mechanic service Iāve ever experienced. Iām pretty knowledgeable about working on vehicles and only take my truck in if itās a job I dont have the tools or equipment for. I have a 95 Tacoma and I needed new ball joints, steering rack, control arm, tie rods, etc. so I call them up and am quoted $5500 for basically a new front end. Which is fine, I drop the truck off and itās taken care of. A few days after getting my truck back I load up my girlfriend and dog to go spend the day out at Apache maid. As Iām driving in I hit a small pothole and heard some grinding noise so I check out the newly done work and everything seemed fine but turned around as something just didnāt feel right. So I drive back to the I-17 which is 6-7 miles from where I was. As I was turning onto the on ramp the grinding started again and steering was impossible. I get out and look at everything again to find the tie rod on the right side was disconnected and dragging. If that hadnāt come off right when it did me, my girlfriend and my dog would probably be dead. So to me itās clear they forgot to put the cotter pin on the bolt that connects the outer tie rod. I understand this is a simple mistake as I missed it as well. But as a professional mechanic Iād think thatās a pretty simple thing to check after a job like that. So I call them up and they tow it and take care of the issue at no cost to me. I was extremely understanding as I get that mistakes are made sometimes. Flash forward 7 months and I call up because I need an alignment done. Bill quoted me $90 I explain Iāve had work done and the issues I experienced afterward, bill says heāll just take care of it, great I make an appointment for the for the following week and drop it off on that date. Well 2.5 days later it was finally done, 2.5 days for an hour job? What was the point of the appointment? I show up to pick it up and they say itās going to be $120, so clearly Iām frustrated and definitely expressed that and told them what bill said. Come to find that he didnāt put that monumental cotter pin mistake in my work history, I wonder why? So they eventually drop the price to $65, cool I donāt expect free work but I do expect to pay what Iām quoted at least. I get in my truck to leave and noticed my seat was moved along with my subwoofer which needs to be set aside to move the seat. So I go to move it back a realized every single wire was ripped out of the sub in the process of moving it. Thanks guys! Anyway, I fix it really quick and go to leave. I noticed my AC wasnāt getting cold... I flip it on and off a few times and eventually heard the compressor clutch engage. So yesterday morning I go to run errands and the AC Isnāt working, I check the fuses and all the wiring and nothings wrong. I hook up my freon gauge and notice itās completely empty, no pressure at all...not only that, but the cap for the discharge port was missing and the connection wiped clean... funny thing is, I checked my Freon pressure the week before I dropped my truck off and it was completely full. I recharged it this morning and thereās clearly no leaks in the system. So Put 2-2 together and make your own conclusion. Iām a local to Sedona and have given these people a lot of my money, time and patience. If this is how they treat locals or anybody for that matter they deserve to have any licensing they have taken away. Theyāre lucky I didnāt bring up a lawsuit against them. So in my opinion I wouldnāt bring an RC car to these people to work on. Update after your reply: you have the audacity to suggest Iām lying after everything youāve done? My seat was ABSOLUTELY moved and the wires of my Were ABSOLUTELY ripped out by you. The cap for the high pressure port of my AC system wasnāt missing before I took it to you and the Freon was ABSOLUTELY full. You ABSOLUTELY almost killed me, blame it on who you want, itās your business you need to over look major jobs. As far as the wait for the alignment I would have NEVER agreed to three days And $120. Take...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I were traveling from NY to CA with a 2015 green fiat 500 Pop and when we reached Sedona the engine light came up because of a scheduled maintenance ie. Oil and oil filter change.
I knew it would be fine to finish our travel and then do maintenance, despite the engine light, but I looked for a servicing facility to do it before continuing on our way, because I try my best to keep our little 500 always well maintained. I also wanted to put my wife mind's at ease as well as avoid that any possible issues would potentially become masked by the already lit engine warning light.
So I emailed in the evening since it was already past business hours and then I went next day as soon as it became the AM opening time. I mentioned my evening email and he found and red it through.
The owner was helpful and accommodating from the first moment we met. Understanding we were just passing by while on the way to our destination, he told me he'd take care of our car right away.
I can't say enough good things about Red Rock Auto. If only every commercial establishment and the people working in it had this level of professionalism, helpfulness, integrity and honesty, then a "customer bad experience" would be a rare exception to the rule.
I was extremely pleased with everyone, they were friendly, quick and thorough... The last (thorough) became especially important for us and we were lucky we decided to get the car serviced because the young mechanic inspecting the car (and yes we even got a full report with pictures!) found we had a punctured read passenger tire... And to find that out while crossing the desert on our way to california would have not been very pleasant, to put it mildly.
Now I have been praising Red Rock Auto and everyone working there since I started the review so I understand it might sound fake to you. I assure you that I am being completely sincere and I am so glad I came across this business that I had to write this review here as well... And as time allows I will post this review also on other relevant online sites. They deserve it and I wish to experience the same level of professional service as we did, to anyone who is passing through and find themselves in need of help with their car (like we were). It was also because other satisfied customer reviews that I decided to contact Red Rock Auto... so a thanks goes out to them as well, incidentally! I hope my review could be similarly helpful for for a fellow traveler. šš
I have not been paid, we are not related (and btw that would only be something I'd be very proud of if it was the case!), we're not buddies, we never met ever before prior this instance and we did not get free service... we paid a (very reasonable) fee for the job that was done.
Yet I still don't think I have expressed enough appreciation here... They really went out of their way to help us. Despite the fact that they don't do tire repair, they got our punctured fixed at a nearby BigO tires for us... On top of that they even saved time for us because the owner asked his awesome wife to take their truck and bring our tire to get fixed, while the mechanical work was being completed.
I truly couldn't recommend Red Rock Auto enough! I wish all mechanics had their working ethics... I honestly hope I will have a chance to stop by in Sedona one day so I can pay them a visit to say thanks once again in person for the memorable experience which also helped restore some of my faith in humanity! Thank you Red Rock Auto... You all...
Ā Ā Ā Read more4 1/2 stars. The Redrock Auto & Cycle's website home page says they are open on Saturdays from 9 am - 4 pm. I called Redrock (5/4/2018) to schedule a pre-purchase inspection and they said they are not open on Saturday's and that their website is wrong. It has been more than 24 hours and their website has not been updated. The car seller was only willing to get his vehicle inspected on the weekend and, as far as I could find, Redrock was the only mechanic that advertised Saturday hours. Because of this Saturday issue, the seller refused to sell me the car (and I refused to buy his car without an inspection) To be fair, I gave Red Rock 4 1/2 stars because, after continuing to work with the seller regarding this Saturday scheduling issue, I found out the seller is quite fishy. Redrock, please update your website as I could have avoided driving all the way down from Williams, AZ to look at this person's car in Sedona. Thank you.
Responding to Bill: Hello. The only thing that was really on my heart was the wrong times listed on the website. This is an honest mistake which usually doesn't result in huge consequences, but since I had a unique situation where I drove from Williams it kind of caused a huge issue. I do see today (Tuesday) that the website is updated which is fabulous. One thing I'm not certain about is your statement "We know there are some details that have been changed or omitted." I'm afraid I don't understand what this means? Are you saying I've omitted or changed something? What I said about the wrong times advertised was pretty much it. I can lay out the exact events if you like... I called RedRock, spoke to a woman and asked about scheduling a pre-owner inspection for Saturday. She said RedRock was closed Saturday's. I mentioned RedRock's advertisement for Saturday 9-4. She asked where that was advertised at, "was it on RedRock's facebook?" I said it was on the website's homepage. She said that was an error. Again, I'm not certain if "omitted" and "changed" had something to do with me? If you weren't implying me then I apologize. I don't really know why I would need to call you though. You updated your website. If I called all I would say is "I would like you to update your hours" and you would say "we already took care of...
